... the old generation on both sides are dying out, and are slowly being replaced by people with a more modern, international mindset. And less old grudges. People with iPods.
Claim II: The generation change also means that the first-hand witnesses to the WWII atrocities passes on, and it will be a challenge in the future to keep facts from fiction as their endurance and singlemindedness disappear. And the mentioned iPods and modern life in general makes the truth just that much harder to decipher, as the information flow increases.
Double-edged sword, the generation switching? A lot of people of the 'old school' disappears, I guess this goes for any country (it does for Norway), and among them are both good people and idiots too stuck in their old ways. Several of my old heroes, wether they're political or just 'personalities', have died during the late nineties, and these days they seem to go off a couple a week.
