The shells crashed on the outskirts of the village of Kfarshouba which faces the Shebaa Farms, currently occupied by Israel, the police said.
An Israeli military source in Jerusalem said that soldiers fired a shell 'by mistake' that fell onto Lebanese territory.
'Gunners were aiming at explosives planted in Israeli territory by the Hezbollah but a shell fell by mistake inside Lebanon,' the source said, adding that the Israeli army has informed UN peacekeepers of the incident.
