Al Qaida announces presence in the Gaza Strip
WORLD TRIBUNE.COM
Friday, August 5, 2005

ABU DHABI — An announcement on an Al Qaida-aligned website said Osama Bin Laden has formed a military presence in Palestinian areas of the Gaza Strip. Israel plans to withdraw from the area by October 2005.

The announcement said Al Qaida has formed a group called "The Jihad Brigades in the Promised Land."

The website, which has in the past posted announcements by Iraqi-based insurgency leader Abu Mussib Al Zarqawi, asserted that the group carried out mortar and rocket attacks against Israeli communities in the central Gaza Strip.

The Al Qaida group was said to have used a new rocket called Sajil. The posting did not detail the capabilities of the Sajil.

"The Brigades are not a new organization but merely a spirit of faith pushing the jihad fighters in the promised land to close ranks behind an honest and uncompromising leadership," the announcement on Aug. 3 said.

1. I'm confused. If the Mosad is recruiting al Qaida personnel and
bin Laden are recruiting personnel, are they working together? Are we going to invade Israel or Paelstin for harboring al Qaida? Is there a sane place on the planet?

The avowed enemy of Big Brother!

It is frightening to see how much we have become like the nightmare described by George Orwell in his novel 1984.

"She started to take off her clothes in front of the demonstrators until she was naked. Some of the protesters said they were disgusted by it, while others said the Zionist soldier made rude gestures at them," the Palestinian paper reported.

"When they approached to throw stones at her, the female soldier whipped out a pistol from her underwear and shot at their heads," the paper said, adding that two were killed and nine wounded.

"The medics are accused by the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, of taking orders from the CIA and the Israeli secret service, Mossad."

7. PA unveils Israeli intelligence scheme
PA unveils Israeli intelligence scheme, denies Gaza links to bin Laden

Early last week, Rashi Abu Sba, head of the preventive security apparatus in Gaza, the equivalent of the Shin Bet, accused the Israeli security service of tricking young Palestinians into conducting missions in the name of Al-Qaida. Last Tuesday, a young man named Ibrahim was presented to reporters in Gaza. Ibrahim hid his face behind a mask, and told what happened to him.

He said that a year ago he sent in a personal, with his photo and phone number, to East Jerusalem's Posta, a cultural-entertainment weekly with a personals section. Three months later, the Gazan received a phone call from an older man, who introduced himself as a merchant named Ahmed, who told Ibrahim that his photo reminded him of his son. They spoke on the phone a number of times, with Ahmed asking Ibrahim about the situation - and if he was a devout Muslim.

During one of the conversations, Ahmed told Ibrahim that he wanted to help Gazans in economic distress and began sending money - cash in dollars and Jordanian dinars - through the Nablus branch of the Cairo-Amman bank. Ibrahim told Ahmed that he had never been arrested nor involved in any political organization. Then, in one of the conversations, Ahmed said he was working for Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaida organization, and Ibrahim was meant to be one of its organizers in northern Gaza since the group already had an infrastructure in the south. Ahmed gave Ibrahim a list of people, mostly Hamas activists, and was told to collect information about them and follow them so they could also be drafted for the Al-Qaida cause.

The two never met, but at a certain point during their telephone contact, Ibrahim became suspicious. He contacted a preventive security officer in Gaza and told him the whole story. The officer looked into the matter and told Ibrahim that Ahmed was an Israeli Shin Bet agent, and Ibrahim should immediately cut off any contacts with him.

Palestinian sources said last week that the case was not unusual, and they reported it, as well as similar cases, during a security meeting with top-level U.S. security officials.

18. Kind of curious here...
..but when it comes to what intelligence agencies like Mossad do, what do you want to see in the way of proof? A confession from Mossad itself?

You claim there's no proof in the article and that it's unsubstantiated accusations. I get that. What I wanted to know was what in the way of proof you would want to see for you to think the accusations had some credibility?

21. Well, let's see...
Can it be shown that Mossad members illegally were trying to obtain foreign passports? Yup. What about a 'botched' assassination? Yup. So, if, as the first poster, claimed and newyorican tried to 'prove,' then it would stand to reason that there may be 'proof' out there...as yet, no one has shown that Mossad was recruiting for al-Quadea...it is merely speculation and unsubstantiated.

22. I think it'd be very hard to prove claims like that...
..but in saying that, it doesn't mean that the claims are implausible. Of course the claim in the OP that Al-Queda (which I always spell differently each time) has a presence in Gaza is just as much speculation and unsubstantiated, and I think the Israeli military were pretty spot-on in dismissing the claims...

8. PA uncovers Israelis posing as Al-Qaeda
Gaza security chief announces arrest of three Palestinians used by Israeli intelligence as al-Qaeda operatives.

GAZA CITY

A senior Palestinian security official claimed Saturday his services had uncovered an Israeli plot to create a mock Al-Qaeda cell in the Gaza Strip, while an Israeli official dismissed the charge as "absurd".

Gaza head of preventive security Rashid Abu Shbak told journalists at a press conference that Israeli agents, posing as operatives of Osama bin Laden's terrorist group, recruited Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

"Over the past nine months, we've been investigating eight cases in which Israeli intelligence posing as Al-Qaeda operatives recruited Palestinians in the Gaza Strip," said Abu Shbak, referring to a series of e-mails and phone call conversations.

-snip-

Abu Shbak said three Palestinians used by Israeli intelligence had been arrested, while another 11 were released "because they came and informed us of this Israeli plot."

He poured cold water on the theory that Al-Qaeda was operating in the occupied territories.

14. Unsubstainsed SPECULATION
Basing information on so-called 'collaborators.' Not one of these sources prove Mossad is 'recruiting' for al-Qaeda. Hell, two of the articles don't even mention Mossad. One goes on about Shin-bet, which is not the same thing.

16. Come on
Mossad is very capable of these things. They blew up the WTC, after all. The Joooos are master tricksters, they faked the Holocaust. :eyes:

I get so disgusted and tired of this. Recently a rocket was fired at Israelis that had gathered in Gaza to protest the withdrawal, but it missed and hit a Palestinian home and killed a six year old girl. Islamic Jihad denied any responsibility.

Probably Mossad, derailing the peace plans...

Is Mossad responsible for obtaining Canadian and New Zealand passports, or is saying they've been involved in a few debacles along those lines just more anti-semitic stuff?

It means that I think a few people exist who think that if Mossad isn't proclaimed squeaky clean and beyond reproach, it's down to anti-semitism. That's why I asked the question I did. I've got no idea why you asked yrs..

who think the Israeli's or specifically the Mossad are responsible for all the evil. Do you think there are actually people who want Israel destroyed and will do anything to make that happen? I'd also like to hear what you think of Al Queda.

i plead guilty....many times those palestenian spokesmen have accused us in the IDF of poisening candy....and its true previous to intifada I many of us would leave food behind after breaks in patrols (cans and candys) knowing full well that the palestenain kids would come after us and take them home.

and then we would hear from the a senior palestenain spokesmen how their kids are being poisened.

i plead guilty for leaving candy and food behind.......and I'm not even in the mossad..or maybe i am....or maybe its the shin bet...or maybe not...or perhaps....or maybe I'm really al quida..a branch office...this is just soooooo confusing

ok i confess, the candies had a micro device for transmitting the exact location of the children, hence, its easier to shoot those same children when they're going to school.....if i dont stop know....pretty soon whatever I'm writing will soon be found all over the internet.....
