6. I hate South Park

and not because of this. One time a friend of mine with boys was telling me how funny her kids thought South park was and was it OK if she brought some tapes she'd recorded along to our ski cabin for the weekend, and my kids were going to be there too. I said "ok" and all the kids were watching it and I have daughters . I couldn't believe how sexist it was , I mean it was pure misogyny on a very deep level . My friend is kind of oblivious to stuff like that, so I didn't say anything but I really felt I had betrayed my daughters for letting her play it. Also, it wasn't funny at all, except for in a "low brow" way. I tried to pretend I thought it was funny, but it was just stupid. "We're hip so it's okay if we ridicule women and minorities.
It figures that they would side with the Bush government on 9-11.

Yeah they bash Christians now and then but thats just because they are of the more libertarian conservative persuasion rather than fundie cons.

There are also so many messages generally in there about how it is good to be apathetic and apolitical (just live your own life-don't be like those activists)....

They can be funny sometimes but anyone who thinks there is some serious social commentary in there is just wrong imo. Satire is the tool of the powerless against the powerful....

Does anybody really think these sorts of attacks are effective? What happened on 9/11 is so obvious that the best way to suppress it is to ignore it entirely.

Who had the best means? Who had the best motive? Who had the best opportunity? The South Park boys would have us believe that no powerful US citizens are competent enough to do something that a few "pissed off Muslims" managed to pull off with ease. Isn't that completely retarded?

We all know we are being lied to daily. The only thing holding the 9/11 lie together is its horrendous scope. As soon as people get past that (and more do every single day), it all becomes so obvious.

They said they wanted it. They said they needed it. And then they all twiddled their thumbs as it was happening. Then they told seven different stories about why they did nothing to respond. What more does anyone need to know about it?

They wrote a shitty screenplay with a ridiculously unbelievable plot, but within this screenplay is the germ of a far more compelling narrative that ties up thousands of loose ends.

Yes, they've done a "masterful job" at pretending this debate is about physical evidence only. Why? Because the narrative is what makes 9/11 truth so compelling -- not the evidence. Even this South Park episode presents some clues to the narrative to a number of people who may not have ever considered it.
