Ok, I'll say it. Fuck You Glenn Beck! |

http://willyloman.wordpress.com/2009/06/10/fuck-you-glenn-beck-911-truthers-would-like-to-destroy-the-country-beck/
Now they are tying in 9/11 Truth movement to this attack at the Holocaust Museum…
“One of these groups that I have been warning about for a very long time, are these 9/11 Truther’s…. this guy is a hero in the 9/11 Truth community. Don’t know if that’s true….” Glenn Beck.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUTATYaIZYI
He doesn’t know if it’s true but he says it anyway. What Beck doesn’t mention is that James W. von Brunn was HUGE in the “End the Fed” movement, having once tried to arrest members of the Federal Reserve Bank… of course the “End the Fed” movement is Glenn Beck’s new project, so I can’t imagine why he would overlook that and try to point fingers at the Truth movement, when no one in the Truth movement had ever HEARD of von Brunn…
...
No matter how you cut it, that is just downright dispicable. Glenn Beck is a devious little low-life sell-out. Fuck you, Glenn Beck, indeed!

1. Its interesting that Fox News |

puts SO MUCH and such CONSISTENT effort into smearing 9/11 researchers.
Its almost as if they are AFRAID that one of these researchers will stumble across incontrovertible evidence.

the networks get more desperate to cover their asses by demonizing people who support that research.

You can bet they enlist the scum who are right-wingers to join in the 9/11 discussion. Just so they can try to smear us.
They are devious bastards.
Of course, no one here who is such lasts long on DU, the mods can smell them after a few posts. Good work mods!!

4. Get it all out. Don't hold anything back. It could hurt you. |

Glenn Beck is indeed a fucking idiot. "It's okay to talk about the Fed..."
Von Brunn, of course, spent over six years in jail for having more courage of his convictions about the Federal Reserve than Glenn Beck ever has.
No. 1, Glenn Beck does make a moral equivalence argument between the 9/11 Truth Movement and von Brunn, which is bullshit. In fact, he lies about "early reports that he's a hero" among the 9/11 Truth movement is also bullshit. I've not seen that at all. Among the Federal Reserve hate whackjobs, he is - and that would be Glenn Beck, right? That's where you saw that, Glenn, not at the 9/11 Truth movement sites.
People who make moral equivalences between von Brunn and 9/11 Truth Movement advocates are indeed despicable. It's not true at all.

Willyloman's blog would do well to remove at least one link from the referenced page - what really happened. WRH is quite well known for publishing material both original material and material from sites which have commonly been associated with the type of sites that this post is trying to distance themselves from. Also, if everything I have read is true, Michael Rivero used to be directly associated (as in publishing/hosting the newsletter) of Steven Barry, a white nationalist.

was one of the sources that came up for the video in a Google search. I'm not familiar with any of the sites or persons you referenced. If the link is offensive, my apologies. To be on the safe side, I won't use the source again.
But, the thrust of the post is the Glenn Beck video. Which is dispicable.

12. I have not actually examined the site in any depth |
|
Just noticed the disjoint between outrage against Glenn Beck and the use of a link to a site which is known for promoting the same type of material to which von Brunn would have identified with. To be honest, many people make this mistake, but I think this is an example of the problem and I think that is one of the biggest lessons I have learned as a moderator here (a position which I think gives me some insight).
Glen Beck is quite aware of the source and support behind much of the 9/11 memes floating around. However, I think Glenn has failed in realizing that people do not have a perfect realization of what is being proffered as information. Most definitely yes there is a lot of agenda-driven material out there and yes there are more than a few people like von Brunn out there w/r to the types of conspiratorial ideas they accept, but the mistake that Glenn makes is assuming the motivation of all 9/11 truthers is stereotyped as such. There are all types out there.
What is disconcerting though is that many agenda driven sites and groups have made significant efforts to try and mainstream their efforts in an attempt to create a product that people will buy without understanding their source or implications. I am not saying 9/11 is that way, but there most definitely is a sizable element of people with "easy truth" out there who are trying to sell something quite hateful and/or phobic.

a tendency of some 9/11 skeptics (generally speaking) to buy into "one issue agreement." The thought goes like this: "Who cares if X has all sorts of questionable views on a range of issues, X questions 9/11 and that is all that matters." A similar tendency is the "Big Tent" concept--"Who cares if X has all sorts of questionable theories on the events of 9/11, X doubts the OCT and that is all that matters."

American Everyman is my site. I deal with topics mainly related to 9/11, but I am also concerned with the struggle for freedom of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. As many have pointed out, this is a fine line to tread in the current climate. Yes WRH has a reputation earned from years ago. I don't know what it's about as that I was reading his site back then. All I can tell you, is since I have been reading WRH for the past years, intermittently to be sure, I haven't seen on thing by any White Nationalists on his site. In fact, though he does cover the conflict between Gaza and Palestine, he is much tamer than even say Jeff Rense. I understand the reputation WRH has, and I understand your suggestion about removing his link for it ultimately might damage the credibility of my site to some. but honestly, WRH is a good source of news and information about the struggle of the Palestinians and other less than mainstream topics, like 9/11. Whatever that site was before, I don't see it that way now. I have no stake in WRH and don't post links to their site very often. I just know that as difficult as it is to cover 9/11 issues the same holds true for Palestine. I thank you for checking out my little site and though I am concerned with the development of a viable Palestinian state, I feel the same way about the state of Israel. I mean no harm to either side. I am not a white nationalist, and I don't link to sites that I think are run by white nationalists. If I were to come to that conclusion about WRH based on what they are putting up now, I would certainly remove the link.

It's interesting that you seem obsessed with links on my site. Since you spend so much time reading through them, I figured I would post as many here as I could, in order to save you time. Also, since you seem to be implying something about my site with these weak attempts to smear my name... perhaps you think these somehow put me on the outer limits of credibility. Or maybe you're just reaching. WRH covers the Palestinian issue from a side, shall we say, a little different from the MSM. They did great work during the Israeli attack on Gaza this past January. AFP did good work a year or so ago on the impeachment effort, and for that I put a link up to their site. Took me awhile to even remember, since I haven't used that link, nor has anyone else from my site, for over a year.
So, if you think that what I said is "hard to believe" because of that one silly site link, you are free to come to whatever conclusion you like. But I won't have you to try and insinuate some other conclusion based on the one dusty link you happened to find on my site stuck there over a year ago. There are my links. People can see for themselves how "radicalized" I am. Like I said before; I care deeply about the Israel/Palestine issue and I write about it quite often. That's what I said, and that is what I meant.
Now, if you wish to continue to pry through random links on my site to make some point stand up, be my guest. I just saved you some time. Find the "radicalized" ones.

characterization is so much easier than bothering to deal with complexity. Thus everyone who questions 9/11 simply must be a violent right wing nut.
The guy should hire a perception management team. Look at what it has done for Cheney. He hasn't been honest about 9/11, he lied the country into an invasion/occupation of Iraq, orchestrated a war profiteering program, conspired in a domestic spying program and authorized a sickening torture program. Yet with the help of perception management he is considered a super patriot, tough on terror, committed to keeping America safe, willing to take on al Qaeda and the ACLU at the same time, etc.

Edited on Fri Jun-12-09 07:35 AM by LARED
Some want to tar the truther movement with this nut job von Brunn, and truthers correctly cry foul. Yet when the nut job killed Dr. Tiller lots of folks are willing, no make that delighted, to smear prolifers as terrorists.

No one has shot anybody, or bombed anything in the name of getting the truth out on 9/11.
Pro lifers, on the other hand have terrorized thousands of people.
