Poll question: Flight 93 - Pennsylvania Poll
Clearly I'm in a polling, finger-on-the-pulse mood... :)

Where are DUers today on Flight 93?

1. I was on the phone with a state office after the towers were hit
and well before the news media new of the plane crash. The person I was talking to told me about the plane crash and it appeared that it wasn't as big a surprise. I always wondered if they knew it was going to be shot down and were preparing for calls...

2. I'm not sure that I disagree....
with shooting it down. Who knows where it was headed. Glad I didn't have to make the decision. For those of you who get angry about this post, know that I despise all and more of duck-anus's actions.
As to the brave passengers, well nice 'uplifting' (no pun intended) story but probably bushit.

3. Shot Down
I don't know why they wouldn't just admit shooting it down though. I don't think anyone would be upset by what was a neccesary thing to do. I guess the whole "Let's Roll" thing was more dramatic.

13. Kind of a Jessica Lynch thing
much more heroic and inspiring if the passengers brought the plane down.

Personally, I think it was shot down as, given the situation, it should have been. The only thing that makes shooting it down iffy is it would indicate that someone in the Air Force went ahead and did their job - something that was sadly lacking everywhere else that day.

4. anti-conspiracy theory for crashes
I think 77 slamed into the Pentagon, I think 93 crashed due to a struggle. The two flights into the twin towers goes without saying. My biggest question about the morning of 9/11 is if NORAD had this SOP in place for planes out of communicaiton and off course, then why the hell did it takes so long for them to implement it? Not saying that the Whitehouse knew ahead of time, but am saying someone, somewhere dropped the ball... and we'll more than likely never know who or why.

6. the wtc 19... do you believe that?
they had their pics etc within hours, in time for the olsen cellphone call to ted olsen, and CNN identification of bin laden as culprit....do you believe that? do you believe they found a terrorist's perfect condition passport in wtc rubble? do you believe some citizen had a argument with 'arab's' in boston airport parking lot, and told fbi, who found car with 'how to fly a 737 in 3 easy lessons' manual on the back seat? Do you believe that bush said 'i saw the first plane hit tower and thought 'what a terrible pilot'! not once but several times over months after 911 to giggling crowds of repuke supporters?
Do you believe that not a single corporate ceo was killed on 911 despite fact their offices and company suites were on top floors? Do you believe the CIA ran a 'plane crash into gov buildings/wtc' simulation excercise on...sept11/01! (?) or that vast sums of airline stock were short sold, making likely killers' friends billions of free dollars? Do you believe bush won the 2000 election?

7. I agree with kyrasdad, and say no need to cover-up downing it.
No points made were relevent to flight 93.

YOUR LIST:
Having pics within hours,
Bin Laden found by Clinton, known by whole Bush family, known by all who wanted pipeline through Afghanistan, and by CNN,
Passport in wtc rubble,
Finding car with 'how to fly a 737 in 3 easy lessons',
bush said 'i saw the first plane hit tower'...,
not a single corporate ceo was killed on 911,
CIA ran wtc simulation on...sept11/01,
vast sums of airline stock were sold short,
bush won the 2000 election?

have nothing to do with flight 93 being shot down or not shot down.

I believe 77 slamed into the Pentagon, 93 might have crashed due to a struggle. Bush might have gained points for having acted decisively. No need to cover-up downing it.

11. "not a single corporate ceo was killed"
Where'd you hear that nonsense? And why didn't you check it?

Jeff Mladenik, CEO of ELogic; Edmund Glazer, CFO of MRV Communications; Daniel C. Lewin, the co-founder and CTO of freakin' Akamai; James E. Hayden, CFO of Netegrity; Heinrich Kimmig, president and CEO of BCT Software AG; Jake Jacoby, COO of Metrocall Inc....

This is just after a quick look.

5. On 9/11
the guy in the next cube was Air National Guard. He got an email from a buddy claiming one of the pilots in his unit downed Flight 93. I've wished a million times I'd had him forward the email to me instead of just reading over his shoulder. Didn't realize it would be covered up. Or maybe the buddy was full of it. Cubie didn't think so.
