showing controllers ''false targets," or objects that didn't exist,

potential collisions, FAA spokeswoman Arlene Murray said....
Technicians aren't sure which part of the radar system is
malfunctioning, Murray said."

It goes on to say that planes leaving Logan are handed off to the
Merrimack regional facility, and then to Nashua NH. The faulty radar
at Logan, an ASR-9, feeds data from a 60 mile radius to Merrimack; it
has two antennae--one for position information and one to communicate
with the transponders to identify the aircraft. Officials aren't
saying if the problem is with one dish, both dishes, or the computer.


I can't help connecting some real speculative dots here. Last
year in Richard Clarke and Mike Scheuer and this year in Ray McGovern
we saw the rebellion of the intelligence community against the
Bushites. Finding it difficult to imagine how false data is
manufactured by a malfunctioning system, I wonder if the answer is
that these blips are the CIA's opening salvo of its war against the
Bushites.

If it's true that the 9/11 air defenses were distracted by false
blips and the entire FAA/NORAD story since then has been a coverup,
then a lot of people have been keeping silent. False blips would then
be saying publically: false blips can be done, here's how they are
done, we believe they were done. And right now, just as every one of
the 22 on Fitzgerald's list is sweating it out, everyone involved in
any such coverup is beginning to sweat too.

1. I don't know if Logan's ASR-9 has been updated.

ASR-9s have a known problem with this. A process has been developed to correct it, but i don't know if Logan has had that update.
