Why Bush the Bubble Boy may not break out of his bubble tonight...
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 06:20 PM by DemMother
"At heart, he is a snotty little smart ass who has no respect for anything."

from Digby.

"The Bubble Boy

The presidential bubble may have made it impossible for his handlers to stop him from being his cocky self instead of hiding behind Rove's carefully crafted facade of the regular Joe. After last Thursday's debacle I assume that someone has tried to put the mask firmly back in place.

Then again, maybe not. The man behind the mask is the real Bush and last Thursday I got the sense that he was yearning to breathe free. Judging from his smirking and preening on the stage two days ago when he delivered his "major" speech, he didn't seem to have learned his lesson. The men behind the curtain may have lost control of their creation.

We'll see tonight if he can keep his two selves integrated or if the inner Bush emerges once more."

1. My feeling is that he will be acting
He picks up the attitude from meetings and conferences he attends and some of the the rhetoric. He thinks he can act like a real president if he emulates those who speak as if they are real,in charge, people.

so everything he says and does, is acting and a mime.

That is all he can do--act -- because he does not have a clue nor does he have his finger on any facts or policies. He is and has been, merely the actor,(and not a very good one)and the front man. He has been the puppet of Cheney for the past four years. Cheney is the real president who operates from an undisclosed location. I think that Bush really does believe however that he is the real president. Must be the biggest joke around the White House.

He may have a few memorized things to say tonight, in his act, that he thinks will make him appear presidential, but Kerry is way over him in all measurements.

2. He's been revealed as an ill-informed, slogan chanting simpleton in the
first debate....In my opinion it wasn't his facial expressions that did him in so much as his revealed ignorance.....The people really got to see what a moron they had for president....Tonight I think the classy Kerry will walk all over him again....

3. * is a total coward, so
Rove doesn't have the option of completely ripping the last performance apart, if he did * would cry and whine and refuse to debate Kerry. He will smirk and scowl again, just less than last thursday.

4. Heard he has been practicing NOT smirking. BOTOX???
He has already primed his fan base by telling folks on the stump that when Kerry "flip-flops" he has trouble not rolling his eyes.
