A quote so wonderful from Laura Bush, I won't even call her "Pickles"
Laura Bush: 'Life Doesn't End'

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135250,00.html

So how does Laura Bush think the presidency has changed her husband?"George is a certainly grayer," the first lady told FOX News' Jim Angle, before quickly adding, "I think he still looks young."

Laura Bush talked about the difficulties of being first lady during such a critical time in the nation's history. "It's very difficult to serve as president of the United States, it's difficult on the family, you give up your anonymity and that's the one thing you lose. But it still is also a huge privilege to serve our country."

Mrs. Bush said she certainly hoped her husband wins a second term on Nov. 2, but she did "entertain" the idea that Sen. John Kerry could come out ahead.

"I hope he wins, because he makes the best president and he is the best president, but at the same time, if he doesn't, he doesn't. We just go on," she said. "Life doesn't end."

I'm glad she's preparing herself, however. :D

I don't get it, I thought she was well read. Oh well, she means nothing in all of this to me.

15. She's totally irrelevant, and I wish her no harm.
But it does, at least partially, explain why she was attracted to such a dimwit.

2. "he is the best president"
oh puh-lease. If he's so great, why do so many Americans and people from other nations dislike him? Why has he divided the country? I could go on and on.

:puke:

that her husband is universally despised.

12. Pickles, being the smarter of the gruesome twosome, can read
the tea leaves and see the handwriting on the White House wallls.

I think both she and Poppy won't be too sorry when Shrub is de-selected on November 2. They also know that he will soon come completely apart at the seams and it may as well happen in Crawford.

I don't think George has any difficulty killing and murdering the paeons for profit. I think at times, he actually gets a sadistic, macabre sense of power when he can have power over life and death.

Listen Laura--we pay your poor wittle besieged with all the difficulties, husband. Remember that? He is our servant and he wanted that job so bad that he litteraly stole it from his own people. Don't forget that. If he had any brains, it would not be as difficult as you make it out to be.

We are important--and first

not the grand office of the presidency used as a bully pulpit to badger around other countries in our name illegally, and certainly not this gadabout first family who is suffering so greatly because of George's incompetance.

23. Well, let's not forget his remarks to death row inmate Karla Faye Tucker
http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Canopy/2525/karlamain.html

President George W. Bush Publicly Mocked Karla's Clemency Plea
In early August 1999, then Presidential candidate Governor George W. Bush mocked Karla Tucker's plea for clemency during an interview with Talk Magazine. Bush mentioned that he had watched Larry King's interview with Karla Tucker from Texas Death Row.

"I didn't meet with Larry King either when he came down for it," Bush told the magazine. "I watched his interview with (Tucker), though. He asked her real difficult questions, like, `What would you say to Governor Bush?' "

The Talk reporter asked how she answered.
" `Please,' Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, `don't kill me,' " according to the magazine.
Here's the relevant clip of the interview from the September 1999 issue of Talk Magazine.

GOP Presidental Primary Opponent Gary Bauer critisized Bush for these comments.
"I think it is nothing short of unbelievable that the governor of a major state running for president thought it was acceptable to mock a woman he decided to put to death," Bauer said of Bush.

Houston Chronicle, August 11, 1999

18. "you give up your anonymity" ... what a telling comment
I think above everything else, Laura must value the security of disappearing behind whatever roles or masks she can. There's a reason why, after 25 years away from the job, she still markets herself as a "librarian." She then disappeared into the seclusion of a safe marriage to a connected, if unambitious and un-self-defined, empty vessel of a millionaire's son. She's a dutiful wife--she backs up her man and fulfills her public duties, but I think at the end of the day she's pretty eager to end the fishbowl life and settle down to an early retirement.

Let's see what we can do to help her.

20. How does "life go on" for the shrub when he loses?
will he become a statesman?
the CEO of a corp?
lecturing for $100,000 a pop?
or just a disgruntled, disgraced ex-prez.

27. Laura Bush presents as
a battered woman. Check her affect some time, the way she tries to keep from flinching when he touches her.

You say what your abuser wants to hear. Anything else and you can be sure you'll pay for it.

29. "He's grayer"
and he's senile, can't talk, falls off his bicycle every time he gets on it and has anger management issues. But he's the best president.

Oh, god help us. Of course she has to stick up for him but I think if I was in her position, I'd be hiding somewhere, avoiding the media.
