I'm Furious with the lack of questions on the environment.
I have been waiting and waiting through out the series of debates for this issue to get some play. I CAN NOT understand why an issue that is so critical (Especially under this Administration) was COMPLETELY ignored. I also think this would have been a great opportunity for Kerry to have backed Bush into an inescapable corner and am honestly stunned it was not given even 4 minutes of time last night. Is any one else outraged about this??? I don't understand how the topic could be ignored? Is this the moderators fault??

1. Absolutely the moderator's fault
He wrote the questions. It's all up to the moderators.

2. I agree. Yesterday I parked next to an SUV with a Sportsman for
Bush sticker. I wanted to leave a note on it saying, how can you as a hunter support a man who is poisoning all of your fish and game with mercury????? Maybe the problem is these guys have eaten too much of this poisoned stuff, huh?

7. I think your onto something
A number of Americans do appear to be suffering the effects of some sort of chemical brain damage..... Additionally I feel the topic of health care relates very strongly to the environment as the effects of pollution are having a clear effect on our nations health. I kept hoping Kerry might use that as an entry point........ I am very disappointed.........

3. It is one of my top two issues.
If I'm right, we only got one question on it and that was in the second debate. Very disappointing.

4. Bush would have just lied and obfuscated anyway
Even so, they should have replaced the iraq questions with at least one question on the environment- after all, this was supposed to be on domestic policy. No one who actually cares about environmental issues is voting for Bush, anyway, so it really wouldn't have hurt him.

5. The environment came up at the 2nd debate, remember? I was sad
that Kerry didn't give a stronger answer about it. shrubbie claimed that he had improved air quality.

6. excellent point
I recently started listing that as a priority in the zogby polls.

I think what's happened is the rightwing lists terror as its priority, the left healthcare, since we know that's a winning issue if we get it into the press.

If more people start listing the environment as the top issue in polls, it will help us out, because it's another great strong point.

I'm guessing the issues that get airtime are directly related to polls of the public, anyway.

9. I agree. It struck me that that was a pure gift from Schieffer to Bush
I was waiting, because that has been one of the most egregious things Bush has done TO this country, and Kerry could have ripped him to shreds on it. I hope somebody calls Schieffer on it. Instead we get a goofball question about the women in their lives. Feh!

11. It was glaring.

I thought it was one of a number of "pure gifts" from Schieffer to Bush. I generally like Bob, but felt that he was a poor choice for the debate.

12. They should have skipped the stupid question about the flu vaccines
and had a good comprehensive question concerning the environment. The vaccine question was ridiculous.
