LTTE's coming in 10 to 1 in favor of Kerry (Contra Costa Times)10/14/04

Left-wing bias

I read a study recently that stated only 41 percent of Democrats and 33 percent of Republicans trust the mainstream media. The Times is a stunning example of why the public so mistrusts the media.

When the Times selects "voices" from the "community" to comment on the presidential campaign, Democrats, Greens, and Independents always vastly outnumber the Republicans pictured and quoted.

When the Times selects letters to the editor published, pro-Kerry letters always outnumber pro-Bush letters by huge proportions.

It's ironic that, among the pro-Kerry letters, the Times often publishes a letter to the editor complaining of the Times' liberal bias. However, the Times never makes any effort to correct this imbalance.

We publish as many letters as possible with no regard for political views. The letters on the presidential campaign we have received so far are running 10-to-1 in favor of Kerry.

I hope they follow their readers lead and endorse Kerry this year. The endorsed Bush in 2000 and Clinton twice.

only 2 in the last 4 years haven't been published .
