27. Amazing boomerang effect
Could we send this guy out to the undecideds. Maybe with a carnival freakshow motif? Put him in a cage, collect everyones dime, and at just the right moment reveal him behind the curtain, shouting "This, THIS is a Bush supporter."

Lots of screaming and fainting and hiding of the children would ensue, after which we could sign them all up for absentee ballots. Eh? Eh?

Kerry mentioned during the first two debates that his plan is available on his website. There might be some big words, but if you grab a dictionary, you might be able to figure it out.

Oh yeah, I thought the Rethug talking point is that we're all rich, elitist intellectuals?

Tracking poll: Bush has built solid advantage

By CNN Polling Director Keating Holland

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Saturday's CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll indicates GOP candidate Texas Gov. George W. Bush has built a solid advantage during the past few days over presidential rival, Democratic Vice President Al Gore.

Bush currently wins support from 49 percent of all likely voters, compared with 42 percent for Gore. Friday's poll showed Bush leading 52 percent to Gore's 39 percent.

10. It's all movement within the margin of error.
It doesn't really mean anything. A one point difference means they're tied.

13. All movement is always within the margin of error
Bush could move from where he is now to zero on election day without any movement outside the margin of error.

30. It's a two-day blip
Kerry led two days ago, tied yesterday, Bush leads today. I understood what you meant, but I think it's a mistake in general to write off unfavorable polls. In the Clark campaign, people shouted "margin of error!" all the way from 20% down to 12.

But I think we both agree that this does not mean the sky is falling.

If Bush had a great polling day Monday, that will be gone in the tracking poll Friday.

12. Kerry Saves Busload of Blind Orphans... Bush's Lead Widens!!!
-snip-

In poll taken by Harris, Gallup and USA Today thirty-five seconds after the rescue, 62% of likely voters found that Kerry's heroism was "too showy."

Republicans were quick to jump on the incident.

"First he doesn't save a busload of blind orphans, then he does," drolled Vice President Dick Cheney. "This guy can't make up his mind."

"A hero?" asked House Majority leader Tom DeLay. "Ask the kid whose dog he chose to leave behind."

15. Um, Bush and Kerry were tied yesterday in Zogby
No lead was "erased." Plus, Bush is at 46 percent, which is bad for an incumbent. Tracking polls fluctuate; it's the nature of the beast. The important thing is to see what happens when polls start to incorporate any effect from the final debate.

23. None of it has the 3rd debate bounce
and a previous reply was correct, there was a huge day three days ago for Kerry that has since fallen off.

In tracking polls, you need to hold the lead for the same amount of days that are tracked. Example: 7 days straight for a 7 day tracking poll, such as Rasmussen Battleground, and 3 days straight in Zogby and Rasmussen National polls. A one day "bump" has to work it's way through the track to become a firm and convincing number.

39. Don't get in a twist about the polls...
There are so many polls, and the margins are so close, they're going to bound between Kerry and W up until election day.
