Another example of bush being Out of Touch with the people:
Remember the question Bob asked about how polarized this country is?bush's response spoke only of Washington, not of the American people:

BUSH: My biggest disappointment in Washington is how partisan the town is. I had a record of working with Republicans and Democrats as the governor of Texas, and I was hopeful I'd be able to do the same thing.

And then he tries to stick it to Clinton by saying we were divided in the 90's.:

BUSH: My opponent said this is a bitterly divided time. Pretty divided in the 2000 election. So in other words, it's pretty divided during the 1990s as well.

Well, I don't know about anyone else but in my lifetime (40 years) I have never experienced such a divide between the people of this country. And during the 90's, yes I was pissed at the Right Wing Conspiracy against Clinton, but I did not feel the polarization spilled over into the everyday life of the citizens.

Is it possible bush, the uniter not divider, does not realize how he has caused such riff in families, friends, and co-workers? Could it be because he surrounds himself with loyal-oath-signing knuckle- draggers?

Our current pResident is BAD for this country in so many ways!!

1. Agree...
I also think that we have a guy in the White House who is hiding some sort of neuralogical disorder. Observe...when not in a controlled environment he is paranoid, incoherant, rages quickly, drools, etc.

3. I have to laugh............
(to keep from crying actually) when I see the tapes of Bush making speeches on the campaign trail. Each and every person in his audience is handpicked and rabidly partisan. They cheer, boo and go wildly rowdy, as if on cue (they probably are reading cue cards). He has NO exposure to people that do not agree with his policies. He lives in a bubble and that is not good. A President should be in touch with everyone in the country, not only those who are his sycophants.

5. And
We see how angry he gets when he's challenged. I wonder if he was this sheltered as a child too. No wonder he's so out of touch with reality, he's never been introduced to it.

4. when he said that I thought, "Christ, another excuse/displaced blame..."
It wasn't HIS fault he couldn't be a uniter. It was WASHINGTON's fault. Oh, but he knows how to lead. Irony undetected by any of the commentariat.

I'm just leaving my jaw on the ground. No sense having to pick it up all the time.

7. its the intentional, relentless use of wedge issues.....
like abortion, like gun control, like gay marriage.
these issues are INTENTIONALLY divisive, and used in attempt to completely divide the electorate. That is what makes it impossible to rejoin the electorate after an election because they've been wedged apart.

The parties are using the ENERGY of a wedge issue to get elected, but are not taking the RESPONIBILITY of resolving the divisive nature of the issue once elected. It accumulates, and forces us deeper and deeper into the chasm.
