I think this should be in GD but it involves the election so I'm in a quandrey, uhh quandry, uhh quandray, uhh whatever.

Why do I think that if the country does go for Bush, and we can't do anything about it, American democracy is dead and we're back in Imperial Rome?

Of course, as a construction worker I guess I should appreciate all the Colliseums our new Emperors will build, but as a union worker I'll probably be one of the first to confront the lions there.

And the truth, of course, is that America will have died at its own hand, at the very moment when it should be the most ascendent in the world and civilization.

Ain't life ironic?
