How John Kerry should respond to Candy's question about Mary

"Before Wednesday's debate, the Vice President had openly discussed his daughter Mary's sexual orientation at a campaign event. And I applaud the Vice President for doing this, and for contributing to a more tolerant society. Since the debate, the Vice President and his wife have made it very clear that they no longer want their daughter to be the subject of any further discussion during the campaign, and as someone who has two daughters, I certainly respect that. And out of deference to their wishes, I will not have anything more to say on the subject. I would hope that the President's campaign staffers would respect the Cheney's wishes and do the same."
