Bob Barr Lists Reasons Conservatives May Vote Against Bush

You gotta love it! :7

Barr's article was published October 7 in Atlanta's "Creative Loafing" and I posted the link in the Georgia forum. Now that he's appearing on CNN criticizing Bush*, I think more people outside Georgia will be interested in what he has to say.

Bob Barr and Pat Buchanan are proof of the old adage about politics making strange bedfellows, aren't they?

2. Bush is not a conservative
He's a radical.

If fiscal responsibility, paying down the debt, not mucking with the Constitution for political gain, respecting person privacy, reducing the size of government are "Conservative" ideals, then Clinton/Gore was the greatest Conservative administration ever!

5. Explaining Bob Barr. . .

well, he was wrong to carry out his little GOP- jihad against Clinton, but he's right to go over Bush* on his faults.

4. Pat Buchanan is (apparently) supporting Bush.
I saw something of an "Apologia" from him a while back.

"Where is an old conservative going to go? The Republican Party is our traditional home."

Or something like that -- supposedly quoting Goldwater -- as I remember it.

Gee, how about returning to traditional conservative principles.

And I particularly liked the reference to "LePanto".

At least he still has a sense of humor.
