This is from a local newspaper on Long Island. He went to the mall looking for people who can't make up thier minds.Bush or Kerry?
He found three people. Here are thier responses.
SNIP> One undecided man, Andy Lesser of Plainview, minding his own business as he left the Walt Whitman Mall, granted me a one-minute interview. He said he has voted Republican in the past, voted for George W. Bush in 2000; but was unsure this time because "Bush goes too far right for me." He said he liked Kerry's "statesmanlike" appearance in the debates, but wasn't 100 percent sure about him, yet, either.
SNIP>
"I'm not happy with the way
handling Iraq," said Jerry Garraffa, hurriedly pushing his grandchild's stroller, "but I'm not happy either with what Kerry did, protesting the Vietnam War. Now, I gotta go." That was it from undecided voter Garraffa, who was with a woman, his wife, I think, from whom I tried to extract another interview.

This woman is a professional person, a woman with a family, a committed type of citizen. She won't let me use her name. She usually votes Republican in presidential elections, and she wants to vote Republican this time. But she can't quite make it official.
Here is what she says: "It's embarrassing to be undecided at this point. I don't like admitting it to people ... I would like to vote for Bush. I think that Bush is more affable. In certain situations, that makes me trust him more. But the things that have come out about the war, the information leading up to the war - that disturbs me. I'm not over that yet. I trusted that he would check and make sure that what we were doing was the right choice. I'm not sure he was rigorous enough.
"On the other hand, I'm generally conservative. I have a conservative position on the abortion issue. That's very important to me. I'm very concerned about environmental issues, too. And the spending. I want him to spend less, which is a problem with Bush, and Kerry, too. I think Kerry would spend too much. But in terms of expressing his positions on issues, Kerry is more qualified. And I like the idea of having a president who would articulate his ideas in a clear and intellectual fashion. I didn't
realize that that was so important to me, but it is. Not that the president isn't a very intelligent man. It's just that his ability to express ideas is not on the level I would like.
"I watched every debate. I've been waiting for something to happen - some ah-ha! But it hasn't happened yet."
Is there any way to convince these people? What a bunch of idiots!
Those are the only three he found but if you want to read the whole article here it is.
