Musgrave Claims Gay Vendetta

(Fort Collins, Colorado) Saying she has a "bull's eye" on her back, Colorado GOP Rep. Marilyn Musgrave has sent an emergency mass e-mail begging conservatives nationwide for money to help her combat the "radical homosexual agenda" that is trying to oust her from office.

Musgrave, whose campaign against Democrat Stan Matsunaka has featured a series of colorful ads, said she has been declared public enemy No. 1 because she introduced the proposed constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage. The measure recently stalled in Congress. (story)

"Leaders of the homosexual lobby know if they can take me out, no one will stand against them in the future. I have no other choice but to ask for urgent help from pro-family Americans like you," Musgrave said in the e-mail.

The message was distributed on the mailing list of the Traditional Values Coalition, a Washington, D.C.-based conservative Christian group with a history of opposing gay rights initiatives. The Rev. Louis Sheldon, chairman of the group that says it has 43,000 member churches, said Musgrave should be applauded for taking the lead on protecting the sanctity of marriage.

I forgot, throughout history hate has been used to gain political footing on the back of slaves, women, Jews, and now gays. When will civilized people be in office? These religious zealots need to go and Musgrave being a women is the biggest hypocritical stance yet!
