he's already said that some things will be gone 'in a nanosecond'... but unless we get back both the house/senate it will be a logjam...

how much can he get away with by a stroke of a pen? (let's not forget that Chimpy's Patriot Act has given the office of the president more power for 'Executive Orders' for 'National Security).

- immediate restoration of health benefits to Vets/Guardsmen (Nat Sec)
- immediate raise in pay/insurance benefits for Active Duty personnel (Nat Sec, attract more vols).
- immediate resciend of the Stem Cell Research Ban
- immediate cancellation/open bids for all the Halliburton/Iraq contracts (open bid = WORLD WIDE)
- immediate closing of the outsourcing/offshore tax loopholes

1. This is possible only if the taking away of benefits was by a executive branch decision.

2. No can do. Only Congress can appropriate the money needed for an armed forces pay raise.

3. He could easily do this one.

4. He could do it, but who is going to support the troops logistically until he can get new contracts awarded and a new vendor up to speed.

5. Only Congress can change the tax laws.
