I called CNN and got a Kerry-bashing recording!!! |
|
I just called CNN twice at 202-898-7900 regarding the apparent oversampling of Republicans (38% Republican to 30% Democrat) in the latest Gallup poll.
The first time I was transferred to a disconnected number 202-582-7023.
I called again and said what happened and asked why CNN didn't provide the breakdown by party id. I was transferred to their public information center and put on hold.
While I was on hold, I heard a recorded message about how Kerry's health care plan is a 'government takeover'!
This is totally disgusting!
The other news agencies need to know about this!

3. There is a good chance you were just getting what was on CNN at the time |
|
If there was an anti-Kerry commercial airing, or some talking head/interview thing going on, it would come out on hold.
Most TV networks use their own feed as their "hold" recording.

4. It's nice that --sometimes-- their feed works. |
|
it has a pesky tendency to drop out when people like David Brock or Howard Dean are talking.
(Damn Satellites! So unreliable!)

6. I just called myself... |
|
first of all, the guy I talked to was in INDIA so it's obvious CNN is outsourcing jobs!
Secondly, I too got a recording, but I think what you heard was CNN radio news and you probably heard a report from the Bush campaign criticizing Kerry's health care plan. While I was on hold, the part I heard talked about early voting in Florida.

7. When I called I heard Tommy Thompson saying that |
|
there were no problems getting the flu vaccine.
When I finally spoke to a live person, I mentioned the pro-Repub sampling bias plus the fact that Gallop was way off in 2000 while Zogby got it right. I asked why CNN was still using a pollster who wasn't the most accurate.
Then I told the CNN rep that I was concerned about where my husband could get a flu shot in spite of what I had just heard on their station. And I am.

10. research this further |
|
It would be nice to know if CNN is actually pushing propaganda on their employees in the office. It's certainly a partisan move if you heard it twice and it wasn't part of some live broadcast.

Thanks for posting that phone #, I just called and told them that I was concerned over the Right-wing bias in their polls and that I would no longer be patronizing advertisers that advertise on CNN nor will I watch CNN anymore. I also told them that I would be advising my family and friends to do the same. It is time to turn that shit off! Is there some kind of rehab for news junkies? Never mind, I know what it is, fresh air and gardening.
