Why Bush Will Lose (Let Me Count the Ways) |
|
1. The War in Iraq continues to be chaotic. The platoon that mutinied has turned out to be correct in that their equipment is faulty. Bremmer's statement that he almost had to postpone operations in Iraq 9 months ago because of a lack of supplies confirms that the Bush administration hasn't a clue.
2. The economy is falling. New unemployment figures show that the job losses are increasing. Treasury Secretary Snow's comments that the job losses are a "myth" must be playing really well in Ohio.
3. Fuel prices. Folks who commute to work are feeling the effects of rising gas prices at the pump, prices that have broken the all important $2 a gallon mark. Add to that the anxiety over higher than expected home heating costs, in some cases over 50% from last year, and you have a very angry electorate.
4. The dropping stock market. This is also key. Investors are watching the market break the all important 10,000 point mark in the wrong direction. This softens Bush support in the "investor class".
5. The Flu Vaccine shortage. Please don't underestimate this problem. It effects the undecideds more than any other issue. Children and seniors are at risk. People's live are at stake. There is no telling how much of an impact this anxiety has with Mothers of young children, as well as seniors.
6. Bush's ineptness on the stump. Bush continues to misspeak. Yesterday calling on September 4th "as a day I will never forget". "We will support terror". "We will never have an all volunteer Army". This solidifies the image that he is a nit-wit, and hasn't a clue.
Every issue is breaking away from the President. All Kerry has to do is not f**k up, just look Presidential, and we'll win this thing easily.
