ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) - President Bush says he doesn't envision a longtime presence of U.S. troops in Iraq similar to post-World War II deployments in Europe and South Korea that continue today.

"I think the Iraqi people want us to leave once we've helped them get on the path of stability and democracy and once we have trained their troops to do their own hard work," Bush said Monday in a wide-ranging interview with The Associated Press.

Still, Bush said, "It's very difficult for me to predict what forces will exist although I will tell you that Iraq's leadership has made it quite clear that they can manage their own affairs at the appropriate time."

If free and open Iraqi elections lead to the seating of a fundamentalist Islamic government, "I will be disappointed. But democracy is democracy," Bush said. "If that's what the people choose, that's what the people choose."

1. Or in other words ...
"We're getting our asses handed to us and now we realize that the oil isn't just going to jump up out of the ground and into the tankers, so we're gonna pull the hell outta there while Halliburton can still show a profit, and let those towel heads fend for themselves."

3. We left huge military bases behind in Vietnam and the Philippines.

This would be nothing new. If Bush wins the election, he's going to declare victory and run like a striped tailed ape, the fucking coward, and to hell with the Iraqi people. He will have killed tens of thousands of people, and squandered hundreds of millions of dollars, all because he never wanted his precious moment running around with a bullhorn to end. And no one will have gotten a damn thing out of it, except Bush got a theme to run on for his electoral campaign.

This has been the lowest point in modern American history. At least dropping the A-bomb on Japan can be defended from the standpoint of trying to save American lives. But Iraq? There is no defense.

7. What is it with this moran and "hard work"
Someone needs to teach the chimp a new phrase, one that is half way believable when coming out of his lie hole, and "hard work" coming from the chimp isn't.
