Chimp: yuk yuk yuk... the RICH don't PAY taxes! yuk yuk yuk...
chimpy was just howling (and I'm not exaggerating, it was his standard screeching rant) and he made the point, yet again that:

ha ha ha ha ha... don't you know that the RICH don't PAY taxes. they hire accountants to get them out of it. ha ha ha ha. and that puts the burden back on YOU! ha ha ha ha ha.

WHY doesn't the audience STONE the fucker? He thinks it's FUNNY that his class DOESN'T PAY TAXES?

WHY doesn't anyone from the 'base' say: well, Mr. President. I pay my taxes. Why can't YOU do something to make sure that YOUR RICH FRIENDS pay their fair share too?

1. Cos that would be "class warfare"...
...and class warfare is bad. The WSJ editorial page says so.

Bleah.

2. Send a letter to the IRS.
Tell them you plan to cheat on your taxes until you get a tax cut.

Then defend yourself by saying that's what the president said all rich people do anyway.

See how long it takes for an audit to come your way.

3. I honestly don't understand how this plays for him
He's basically praising a group of people for evading the law.

I mean, you can make the same argument about any law - criminals don't obey the law, so why bother having it? People who want to kill someone will do so anyway, so why bother having a law making murder illegal?

Bush seems to think his supporters are idiots. And they're proving he knows his audience well.

4. his appearance
has always and still does make me puke...........he waits for applause.he laughs and wants people to laugh with him.his smirk is totally unreal.....you know the one that looks like.I just farted.anybody hear it?.............he has always made me think that way and it will never change.

Thats what is refreshing with Kerry.he acts like a poised human who can conduct himself in public and doesn't make a fool out of the American people.....he treats them with the respect he would like to be treated with......not a moronic laugh/gaff/fart/ tee hee stand

5. Kerry isn't helping!
He shouldn't have let his wife release their returns...It gives ammo to the r/wing pugs on radio. They were discussing it today...Apparently Teresa's return shows a little over $5 million in income and dividends, and Kerry brought the total up to around 5.2 million...yet they only paid an effective 12% tax rate after all of the shelters were applied to it..

doesn't look good...They are in the top 1%. If Kerry is going to hike taxes for the top bracket, he should have set an example by paying last year...which would have been a 300% increase over what they actually paid.

8. Ever heard of tax exempt bonds?
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 10:34 AM by RobertSeattle
Don't spout RNC talking points without the facts.

"Mrs. Heinz Kerry paid $627,150 in federal income taxes on gross taxable income of $2,291,137, primarily from dividends and interest she receives from Heinz family trusts. In addition, she paid an additional $171,670 in state income taxes and had $2,781,791 of tax exempt interest income from state, municipal and public entity bonds. These taxes are separate from and in addition to the income taxes paid directly by the Heinz family trusts and by other beneficiaries who receive income from those trusts. "

19. It's easier to cite r/w radio and say "Kerry isn't helping"
Than to come back here and argue with your facts.
Thanks, RS!

15. Kerry has said he did not think the tax breaks for wealthy
were a good idea. He admitted that he would have to pay more taxes. In addition, these are Teresa's taxes. I'm willing to bet that they do not mix their financial records. Each of them have their own separate taxes. IN ADDITION, one of the news shows said that Teresa donated way up in the millions (I think it was $5 million) for her charities during the same tax period.

22. exactly, her charitable contributions are very honorable...
...from everything I've seen, so far. She does a lot of good towards helping those who aren't as fortunate as she is. And she learned to be this way LONG BEFORE she ever had a lot of money.

This is the least wimpy potential first lady I've ever seen, and I look forward to eight years of outspokenness on her part. It's about time women stopped playing along with stereotypical models of womanhood, and just be real. No more walking on eggshells.

20. Their returns make a couple of points which help
1) The rich get off easy, here are our returns to prove it.

2) The Kerry tax plan will not be personally good for Kerry, so he acts not in his own interest, but rather in the interest of most Americans! That is a serious departure from the way things are done in the present administration, where the rich get tax breaks which are not going back into the economy. Middle class spends $ on products and services, which creates even more jobs.

23. She's supposed to donate money to the IRS?
Here's what you've asked for, and here's some more for good measure. Give me a break. The point is, is that they weren't asking for enough. I also read somewhere, sorry, no link, that she notified the county when they gave her a tax break she didn't deserve. It seems to me that she goes out of her way to be above board.

Don't even get me started on her charity work.

Bush Brings Campaign Across the Potomac
Updated: Monday, Aug. 9, 2004 - 1:30 PM

ANNANDALE, Va. (AP) - President George Bush talked about taxes and entrepreneurship at a campaign stop today in northern Virginia.

The president held a town hall-style forum with about 600 supporters at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale.

He criticized Democrat John Kerry's proposal to eliminate tax cuts for the wealthy, saying that "the rich in America happen to be small business owners" who put people to work.

Bush added that "the really rich people figure out how to dodge taxes anyway."

7. I have always said that the roll back on the top 2% does not hurt
them, most of the people I know who make over the $200,000 have never had to pay the max amount anyway, I'm sure Kerry know's that too. They will however pay more, not enough to hurt individually, but enough to make a considerable contribution to the treasury. Most of the people in my precint are close to this category and/or in it or slightly above and none that I know of are concerned repuke or Dem. Now in the other precint where Laura spoke and they charged $
$10-15,000 to see her they are upset. They will pay alot more, they should. I have a heartwarming story about that visit, but can not post because if there are any freepers that could figure out where the visit was my friend might get in trouble.

12. Quite a comedian, isn't he?
That's almost as funny as his "trifecta" joke that he told over and over and over or his "looking for WMD under furniture" joke. Everything's a joke to this lunatic because he clearly hasn't a toe-hold in reality. I've never seen a more inappropriate use of humor than this sociopath. Which is worse--he does know that's inappropriate or that he doesn't?

13. That is proof that the poorer whites in the GOP base
don't give a shit about any "populist" arguments we can make to them if they are not upset at this.

It just goes to show that Rove knows they can say "we're going to screw you" straight to the GOP base and they don't mind.

The next time I hear someone on the left make the "What's the matter with Kansas ?" argument (that rural whites will come back to the Democratic Party if we pitch a more populist message) I'm going to refer them to this.

Fact is, the right wingers are united by hatred -- enough to sacrafice their own economic security and even their life in oil wars -- and don't care if their party is giving all the money to the rich. Economics aren't an issue for them, so long as their tax dollars aren't going to the blacks or the "welfare queens".

24. I want to ask a question (glad you brought this up)
I've listened to him make similar speeches. Sooo, if the rich don't pay taxes because they have the professionals get them out of it, then what are these tax BREAKS for the rich???----does that mean that they are not paying taxes but we are sending them money from our taxes??? Will someone explain, please.
