I read a recent description of being up against Karl Rove in an election as having a thousand daggers coming at you from every direction.
Good idea...all of the themes at once, from different places: military service, drunk driving, "no casualities," "privatize social security," no WMD, lying about the aluminum tubes, withholding the CIA 9/11 report, 9/11 wives for Kerry, record Dem registration, Plame, the draft, record deficit, Paul O'Neal, Richard Clarke, Sinclair, O'Reilly the perv, hoodwinking the Vatican...a million emails in every direction.
And then I woke up.......

1. I was thinking about exactly the same thing, is |

it actually happening to some small extent though?
For the first time in the campaign, the * seems to be on the defensive--about the draft especially.
If only we could (would?) capitalize on the opportunity. I think the * supporters see all these issues out there, aimed at them, and I think some surrogates are presenting them, again esp. the draft and Rock the Vote, so, there's definitely some cause for cheer.
Now, is enough being done? Are enough daggers hurled? I personally don't think so. BUT, I think they're out there, and I think the proof is that, for the first time, *'s on the defensive. And it feels good.
We've just got to keep pushing. When you've got your opponent backpedaling, playing a defensive game, the MOST important trick is to keep pushing. The repub's gave up the initiative, I sure hope we don't hand it back to them...
