7. Nov. 2d, 1976 was NOT a lucky day |
|
that was the beginning of the demise of the responsible wing of the Republican party- and brought us an enept President who paved the way for Ronald Reagan.

10. I guess you are speaking for yourself |

But the Jimmy Carter I saw as president pardoned Vietnam draft evaders, was ahead of his time on energy and actually passed a national energy program which DID decrease our demand on foreign oil, created over 8 million jobs (compared to lost jobs under Bush), brought peace to Egypt and Isreal which is still in place, negotiated the Panama Canal Treaties, signed one of the biggest landmark pieces of environmetal legislation--the Alaskan Lands Bill, Passed a Superfund to clean up toxic waste dumps, created the dept of Education, and got all of our hostages home from Iraq--safely.

11. No, but if you look on the internet and check presidential election |
|
dates, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November--this is what you will find. And personal history, I distinctly remember Carter's election and Clinton's.

But, November 2nd only fell on Tuesday in 1948 and 1976 out of those dates - well and 2004
The rest were all Mondays, one day before election day.
Otherwise, good sentiment.

I think the election for 1936 and 1992 fell on the 3rd?
The election has fallen on November 2nd six times since 1852.
1852 Pierce Dem. 1880 Garfield Rep. 1920 Harding Rep. 1948 Truman Dem. 1976 Carter Dem. 2004 ?
I suppose you could say more often than not the 2nd is lucky for the Dems.
The dates break down as follows:
2nd 3D/2R 3rd 4d/2R 4th 2D/4R 5th 3D/2R 6th 0D/6R 7th 2D/3R/1W 8th 3D/3D
