1. Wish to heaven that could become true, but....
Florida is impossible since Jeb is in charge. There is no way in hell that all the votes for Kerry will be counted.

5. Yep. Let's just take Pa. and Ohio
Big Dawg will help wrap Pa. next Monday. Bush has almost abandoned Ohio. Jeb will make sure big bro wins in Florida.

Repukes and Jebbie have already been caught and failed in even the tiniest attempts for disenfranchise democratic voters. There is very little chance that the majority of democratic voted in Florida will not be caught. The only reason that they got away with what they did in 2000 was that in South Florida,no one was watching at all ,due to the large sense of numerical superiority among democrats in that area, and in the North of the state no one was watching because of the actual numerical inferiority of democrats in that area, They were able to get away with what they did because they were not being watched at all. In Duval County, where the majority of Democratic votes were thrown out, no one was watching at all or contested the voted being discounted until after the fact. That is not going to happen this time. There is no method that Jeb or the Republicans can change the results if nothing can be thrown out and the democrats are prepared to contest EVERY thrown out vote.

If there is any indication that the votes done on computer are invalid, without a paper trail, the Republican votes will also be thrown out, and only the paper trail will be valid. Since the most advanced computerized touch screen machines in fact have been placed in the wealthiest and largely Republican communities. hard copy optical read votes are the ticket in the poorer communities. and if there is any evidence of problems with those counts (there are computer experts working to make sure that the machine counts match the form counts) which means if the touch screen machine votes are found to be in error, they are going to be removed from the count, favoring democrats.

You are giving far too much credit to Jeb and the Republicans than they are due. They are not going to be very likely to attempt anything if every vote is being watched and contested the minute they attempt to disenfranchise a voter.

Again, what happened in Florida was only discovered at the actual time of voting, or after the fact. so there was little that could be done.

Every attempt to disenfranchise voters, to throw out even the smallest number of voter registration was caught and the attempt reveresed. Every person they tried to illegally deny the roght to vote was registered and registered properly.

In fact in figures released today, 1.4 more voters have registered this year than in the last campaign, and more of these were democrats than republican. Democrats may now have a 700,000 vote advantage over Republicans this year, which is why Republicans are going nuts trying to suggest that Kerry has used unregistered organizations to get voters registered, and they are just not going to be able to disenfranchise these voters in the time left before the elections. Once those votes are in, there is no way in hell that any court is going to turn around and remove votes.

There have been enormous amounts of new registrations this year and there have been massively more Democrats registered than Republicans.

13. I am extremely actively involved in this now
IN fact the only thing that is causing any problem for us is people with the attitude that Jeb Bush and the Florida Republicans are so invincable that they can simply get away with anything they want at the drop of a hat. It infuriated them that the Duval County Supervisor of Elections was caught at a tiny trial run of a differnt reason for disenfranchising democratic voters (3 tims as many demos disenfranchsed in the little attempt than Republicans, in a county that has twice as many Republicans than Democrats, which would be a statistical anomaly most unlikely to occur naturally). HE was caught so badly that he resigned because the methods they were trying to cheat again were caught instantly. They were trying in samller numbers here and they probably were trying a different strategy because they are being watched, disenfranchise a thousand people in each of the 67 counties in FLorida and you disenfranchise 67,ooo votes. It didnt work, This is a relatively large, very REpublican county and they were snagged. They will be snaggged easier in smaller counties. Stafford resigned because he saw the end of an era. He cant get away with it anymore.

20. They're crooks. They'll steal it, if they have to. When you have a
President and the Governor of the state both willing to do that, together with the Sec of State and the S. Ct......well, that state is yours.

Heck, he even got away with going on a personal crusade that killed thousands, and people still standing in line to vote for him.

The anti-Christ?

11. Never say never
My 21 year old daughter is working 16-hour days in Orlando to get Kerry elected. Hundreds of college kids from the Washington DC area are heading down in buses this weekend to campaign, according to today's Washington Post.
This didn't happen in 2000. The youngins are ON FIRE!

10. Just got a call from the DNC and the guy said
they are focussing on the states you mentioned. He also said that any donation today would be matched by a generous donor. I gave $50 as it is all I can afford right now, but it brings my total contribution up to $200. It's the final push. Give if you can. Don't let Kerry be outgunned if it comes down to another contesting of votes.

14. Welcome to DU, aeschylus
Glad to have you aboard. :toast:

Yeah, I just couldn't pass up that opportunity to get double the money although I'm on kind of a tight budget. I'm from Ohio and things are looking pretty close. Last I heard Kerry had taken a slight lead in the polls here. I hope we can keep the momentum going.

17. Mason Dixon has Bush winning New Mexico
When the far more reliable ARG poll ha Kerry winning that state

Again in Oregon, Masin Dixon has a one point lead for Kerry. Pther recent polls have Kerry with a 6 point lead there and the average for the last week has Kerry with a 4 point lead inOregon.

ARG has Iowa tied, every other pollster is in some way or another oversdampling REpublicans and the Chicago Tribune Poll of COurse has Bush winning Iowa since the endorsement.

ARG has a tie in Wisconsin, again the other recent polls are CNN/Gallop and Mason Dixon again, giving Ush a large lead when polls from last week showed and extrmely close race, one poll showing Kerry ahead a point.

MasonDuxon has Bush head in Ohio while the average of the last weeks polls stiull has Kerry a timny bit ahead there (average skewed again by Faux polls giving Bush a 5 point lead)All the other polls have Kerry with as much as a three point lead, so the FAUX poll throws the average off.

But who does CNN choose. The polls that show Bush either ahead in states that he is not ahead in, or much closer to Kerry than he is

They switched from Gallop for these polls becasue even Gallop shows Kerry ahead in these states.
