The Silence In Washington
It just floors me that the person we heard from the WH was Karen Hughes. That the VP was a no-show & the president hid in a bunker.

AWOL President
Personally I was dismayed and sadden by the leader of our country that in a time of ultimate terror and calamity would lie to the American public by claiming to be on his way to our Capital from a photo-op in Florida, while all the time planning to go hide out.
The spin doctors are blaming the Secret Service, but face it he is the f-ing President and is the one who makes the ultimate decision, instead of being front and center in the time of a national crisis he chose to run and hide!

I am disgusted
with the performance of our "leader" to this point. He hasn't TALKED to us yet! He keeps reading prepared statements and refuses to discuss this disaster. I have kept my powder dry til this point, but after seeing the eloquence of the Mayor and the Senators, Bush is simply not up to this. He acts like a spokesperson, not a leader.

where???
I am really ticked off that he keeps reading speeches. Where are the words from the heart? Even now he has to be scripted?? What is up with that? Can he not even be trusted to say what he feels?
Damn, now I'm crying again...

notice how
while they play a line or two out of his speeches, they aren't talking about any of them at all. I know it might be a bad time for them to be critical of his work, but you also aren't seeing a lot of people saying he's inspiring either. It's like his speeches are disappearing into a hole.

I just think its shrub the coward....
What the hell is our commander and chief doing flying around a luxury 747 for while we burn?...typical shrub coward. And the speech was to stupid to even mention. Beedy eyed wimp.

So true
Bill Clinton, on the other hand, is acting like a REAL New Yorker and is getting ready to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty.
God, I miss him.

The Bush campaign released an ad Friday renewing its criticism that Kerry is weak on national security, a key theme of the re-election effort. The spot shows wolves prowling in a dense forest as a narrator says, ``Weakness attracts those who are waiting to do America harm.''

Yesterday Mr Bush told a crowd of supporters in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania: "The
outcome will set the direction for the war on terror, and in that war there is no room for confusion."

As the campaign approaches its last full week, Mr Kerry is focusing his efforts on south-western states today, and will make a speech tomorrow on faith in an attempt to attract undecided religious voters.
The president, meanwhile, has surprised some of his supporters by deciding to take a rest, withdrawing to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, for the weekend.
