Encouraging news from colorado...
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 07:59 PM by truthpusher
This is what I saw today canvassing Highlands Ranch Colorado:

...First of all the Strong Kerry supporters I ran into were very enthusiastic. The Strong Bush supporters I met almost all did early or absentee voting. A lot of the Soft Kerry voters and undecideds have not voted yet. I got the impression that these folks would go with the first group that showed them some enthusiasm for there candidate. I also spoke to an active military man who said that half of the people he works with (about 400) are voting Kerry, but are afraid to say anything. I also talked to a few government employees who were afraid to volunteer or vocally support Kerry for fear of retribution.

Conclusion: We all need to talk up Kerry as much as we can. This will affect only the next 10 days of our lives and we should set aside any worry or concern that people will not like hearing about politics; from what I could see, people are dying to talk politics and they are ready to listen. I also get the feeling that there are stealth voters out there, people who won't say who they are voting for, who are actually voting for Kerry.

3. I agree. We have to show a lot of enthusiasm for Kerry.
I have a co-worker who is a registered republican but is a moderate and does not like * at all. A few months ago he wouldn't have imagined voting for Kerry and thought Kerry was a really weak candidate. But myself and a couple of friends have been talking Kerry up a lot. The debates also helped. He is seriously considering voting for Kerry now and I think he will. A lot of moderate republicans/independents are in the same position who despise *. However, because of mass media propaganda they do not feel enthused about Kerry either. It's our job to help them.

4. I told one undecided guy today...
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 08:19 PM by truthpusher
who thought both guys sucked to check out the blogs. I told him that I read a lot of democrat and republican stuff and it has helped shed light on what the parties are producing. He was surprised when I told him I see a lot of anger and hate on the repub side. he definitely isn't going to learn anything from the news.
