I just now turned it on, and he called bush retarded! and the audio went out--I panicked, but apparently it was real.

...is how he combines a) penetrating meta-analysis to deconstruct the framing of the issues with b) devastatingly withering wit. If he decided to hang up comedy tomorrow, he could easily be among the nation's most influential group of thinkers, but with the reach and audience of a Will Rogers. Clearly he is a populist in the same way.
