Bush Campaign Takes The Day Off? WTF?
Looks like the Little President is taking a beloved pillow day at the Lazy Shrub Ranch, with Dark Dick going to ground in his homestate of Wyoming. Which basically gives John Kerry and John Edwards a free shot at the Dozing Duo on the first day of the last full week of the election.

But maybe it will be a day of frenetic conference calling for the losing ticket, with the "What the fuck are we going to do now?" question hanging heavy in the air.

"Karl, I'd have hoped that after spending all that fucking money you'd at least have had a clue about what we're supposed to do during the last week of the election," growled grumpy bear Dick, obviously unhappy with the erstwhile Boy Genius. "Yeah," added the Little President. "I'd have that you'd at least have a clue about what we're supposed to do, too! It's all your fault!"

1. There has been a LOT of talk on DU about this (in other threads).
Big guess is that he is actually going to do a SURPRISE visit to the troops OVER THERE. (This time he'll fly in by fighter plane, in uniform and cod piece :puke:, carrying plastic turkey and reading 'The Pet Goat' while waving a banner that says "Mission Accomplished".

Me, myself and I - we think they have to keep him down on the farm/ranch for a few days because of his 'illness', whatever it is. Drinking, drugs, real illness of some sort. I'm thinking they have to give him some time off to rest up for the last push.

2. He better not try to carry me
And being 49 Iraqi soldiers were just found murdered, I doubt he has the stones to go now.

12. I have to be honest here plastic turkeys. I DID think of you when
I made my post. LOL. Almost made a comment in the post about you. Didn't want you thinking I wanted him to take YOU there. :)

As for the serious side, I totally agree. He's probably afraid to go to the bathroom by himself, let alone go over there now. On top of that, I actually think his handlers would realize that it's too dangerous and plain STUPID to have him go over now.

6. Yeah, I think he has to take time
off cause he is not physically up to it. I believe there is really something wrong with him, some illness or addiction.

9. Today and tomorrow would make sense
Tomorrow, all eyes are on Bill Clinton in Philadelphia in front of a crowd of 100,000 people pushing them to vote for Kerry. How in the hell do you top that? Well, a sneak trip to Iraq smacks of desperation, but it could get some attention.

Still think Clinton's gonna trump anything Dumbya does.

3. Next report of Dubya will be from Kabul International Airport

It would certainly be a snag to campaign plans if someone calls in a bomb threat to Air Force One during the next couple of hours. He has to be back for some softball 'interview' with Charles Gibson on GMA on Monday morning.

But, if you recall, the surprise visit to the Baghdad airport terminal, plastic turkey and all, didn't actually gain Bush anything in polls.

4. If True It Might Be Interpreted As A Damned Fool Election Stunt
Of course, with the Dickster on the ground in Jackson Hole it couldn't be said that the stunt was an irresponsible one.

After all, they'd have sent the more expendable of the two.

5. It would seem so opportunistic
It would backfire, BADLY.

I think he genuinely needs the rest. He has never had to work this hard in a campaign in his life.

Usually by now Rove's dirty tricks have done their work and he can coast.

7. While he rests at the ranch, don't you imagine that Karen & Karl are
scrambling to pull off the dirtiest & most desperate of tricks in the amount of time they have left?

8. Campaigning is "hard work",
so he has to vacation to rest up. You know, "hard work", it's "hard work."

10. Four reasons for the Crawford holiday...
1. Use hand tire pump to reinflate head.
2. Custom-fit new corrective hat.
3. Tweak frequency on hidden receiver to pick up commands from Mars.
4. Chop wood.

It is today, isn't it?

13. He won't be making any surprise trips
Because then the WH and his campaign wouldn't be saying that he's not doing anything tomorrow because people like us would speculate he's going overseas and that would screw up the whole thing.

Most likely he's taking a rest, Clinton will dominate the news tomorrow anyways.

Maybe he's depressed because interal polls show Ohio slipping away....I can hope at least....
