Kerry Bags An Unbelievable Endorsement
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 07:18 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
For the first time in forty years the Orlando Sentinel has endorsed a Democrat for president...

www.orlandosentinel.com

I doubt this will move many votes but it will show the yahoos and philistines who are voting for Bush how he has alienated anybody who thinks including those in the center who lean right...

I have been reading the Sentinel since I was twelve and was shocked to see the endorsement when I opened up today's newspaper...

1. Yee haa!!!!
I believe that these endorsements (most especially from the GOP establishment) are sending a message to the voters! This is nothing but very good news!

2. Awesome!
Unfortunately most of the people I know who support Bush don't read newspapers (except for the sports section). That's the problem with Bush supporters (and probably WHY they ARE Bush supporters) - so many are illinformed.

3. The Tampa Tribune Which Is A Conservative Newspaper
refused to endorse anyone...

It's the first time they haven't endorsed a Republican for president since 1964...

5. Disappointing, but not unexpected news:

The Houston Chronicle endorsed Bush, but with faint praise. They mention their disagreements on policies, but continue to maintain he's best to lead us right now.
Damn, I was hoping they not endorse anyone at worst.

SNIP
Despite the Chronicle editorial board's disagreements with some of the president's policies, both foreign and domestic, the Chronicle believes today's criteria, combined with Bush's long record as chief executive of Texas and the United States, again recommend President Bush to lead the nation. The Chronicle endorses his candidacy for re-election to a second term.
SNIP

The Chronicle's ed board is living in a separate reality like Bush:

Snip
In his final debate with Kerry, Bush recalled a Western artist who preferred to live on the east side of the mountain so he could view the promising start of each day rather than its close. That is the forward-looking spirit in which the Chronicle again gives its presidential endorsement to George W. Bush.

7. I find the metaphor unintentionally humorous.
If you can face the beginning of the day, with all its promise but where nothing has yet happened, but not the end of the day, after you have actually either made the best of or squandered your opporunities, then we know you have NOT made the world a better place at the end of the day.

9. That's a wonderful thought for the editorial board to
consider. They fell for Shrub's comment of reaganesque hopefulness without realizing he's always in denial about the disasters he's created and unable to take responsibility for anything of his doing that goes wrong.

12. emperor's new clothes
a lot of Bush support is built on sand, people know Bush sucks, but they want to "believe."

How enthusiastic can a Bush supporter be? If there are lines on election day, who's more likely to keep standing in line, a Bush supporter or a Kerry supporter?

A reality-based endorsement like this can go a long way to wiping out what little enthusiasm there is among Bush supporters.
