Where are people getting that Zogby says 6 pt lead? |
|
I just checked the Reuter's site and it says Bush is leading by two points, not six.

1. yes it is a two point Bush lead today, but beware tomorrow's Zogby |
|
is likely to be a bummer. Zogby said that "for the second day in a row" Bush had a good day and on Saturday he outpolled Kerry 50-43--so Kerry's best day Thursday will drop off tomorrow and unless today is a good day for Kerry--Monday's results might show a jump for Bush.

How is it possible that there has been such a huge shift?

Washington Post has been tracking since 10/1 and they said Saturday was Kerry's best day...
Daily samples are only four hundred people so your m.o.e for one day would be about nine percent...
Some movements are just noise...
Zogby was polling NH and he said the Sunday before the primary Kerry and Dean were polling even.... Kerry won by thirteen points I believe....

17. If you're looking for angst you can find it in just about every poll. |
|
All this stuff is within the MOE. Besides, Zogby's is a tracking poll via the 'net and of questionable value. GOTV, that's what counts! No poll can tell you how that is going.

4. The Media Has Gored Our Candidate |

The undecided voters have been sliding to Booosh and one more orange alert will pick up the rest of them.
The only way we can possibly win this is with the biggest turnout ever.

5. I am starting to think zogby was lucky in 2000 |
|
If he had gore too high for whatever reason then he would have seemed to have "captured" the DWI fall-out that everyone else "missed."
If he really had Gore winning by one point in California (as I've read here a lot) then who knows what's what. <shrug>

7. You're not alone in that assessment |
|
There are several pollsters I place above Zogby, after studying polls for 8 years. ARG would be #1. In particular, Zogby state polls are among the least reliable. He didn't get nearly enough grief after the flops of 2002. He'll have to nail the presidential race one more time, in relation to everyone else, to convince me his national numbers deserve more attention than other polls.

Zogby is exalted at this site but he was way off in 02 and had Gore winning Cali by one...

10. Considering the margin of error.. |
|
it really is a crapshoot. Some pollsters tend to get lucky in some years, while many others are.. off..

16. well, one reason why i like zogby compared to most others is |
|
becuase his polls don't have mad swings. When you see Gallup and others showing bush bouncing 7/8 points in a week, you go nuts cuz you know that that can't really happen.
Zogby helps regain your sanity. ;)

8. Democrats haven't been home answering polls for weeks |
|
We are out canvassing neighborhoods, early voting, and working at our local Democratic headquarters.
Freepers with nothing better to do are home answering the phone and taking polls.

13. When will they start including Dems in their sample? |
|
It would be nice if those were the numbers and only Republicans had been polled.
Where are they calling? Has anyone here been called?
I don't think I ever will be called because I am not far enough "outside the beltway."
