What will the Kerry cabinet look like?
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 01:42 PM by truthseeker1
State - Wes Clark?
Defense - Joe Biden? Chuck Hagel? John McCain?
NSA - Susan Rice?
Attorney General - Elliot Spitzer? Mario Cuomo?
Homeland Security -
EPA - Robert Kennedy?
Health & Human Services - Howard Dean?
Interior - Robert Kennedy?

Best bets? Who will be the token Republicans? What deals have been made with the DNC/Kerry campaign?

13. Dean - definitely!
What about Kucinich - is there a place for him? Or maybe he is serving best by staying in the House...

4. There should be no tokens of any kind.
It's time to build a dynasty. And take back this country.
There's seriously hard work to be done.

9. No 'tokens', but...
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 01:30 PM by liberalmuse
I'd love to see a few members of the Black Caucus in the cabinet. They are my heros, and they know how to fight for democracy! As a matter of fact, to call any member of the Black Caucus a 'token' pick would be an insult because these Representatives are 100% quality.

On edit: Nevermind. We need them in the House!

10. Being called "token" by the rw wouldn't make it so.
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 01:32 PM by indigobusiness
Good idea.

I meant token Republicans, primarily. McCain would be a HUGE mistake.
But, I've got to admit, Cohen did a great job for Clinton. Fine man, he.

15. I agree
The Kerry cabinet needs to have some diversity. Call it tokenism or "critical mass" (Supreme Court terminology in the affirmative action cases, Grutz and Grollinger), whatever.... we need it.

16. Education - Former N.C. Governor Jim Hunt
This was the rumored pick for the Gore Administration. Kerry should at least consider it this selection after he wins the election and starts organizing his cabinet.

17. NO GOPukes wanted
I guess I'll be the lone one beating this drum but I'm up to the job.

There should be no one appointed as a show of unity in the Kerry cabinet. This is going to be a War Cabinet, not only in response to the al Queda terrorists but also in response to the immediate GOPuke efforts to cripple and minimize the Kerry presidency.

The GOPukes will IMMEDIATELY begin work on restoring and expanding their control in 2006 and 2008 and every single inch of rope Kerry extends to them will end up wrapped around his neck.

How freaking hard is that to understand? We're coming to a watershed moment in a long term battle for the future of this country. That battle is NOT over if we win next week. In many ways it will only have just begun after four years of drifting cowardice by most of our elected Democrats across the United States.

Dean gave these slackers some backbone but standing up is difficult for people who have made a career of going along. We, as in the activist Democrats, have to hold our own leader's feet to the fire if we hope to expand on the possible victory we're hoping for (and are still not guaranteed--it could still end up in front of a reactionary Supreme Court). There can be no quarter extended to our opponents because they will extend none to us.

There are more than enough deserving democrats out there to fill a dozen administrations. Why offer any post to someone who'll most likely turn on us the very first chance they get?

2006 is only two years away; 2008 two years further. The fight isn't over by any measure.

My picks?

Elliot Spitzer for Attorney General
Clark for SecState
Dean for FCC head
Gephardt for Labor
Rice for NSA
Holbrooke for Intelligence Czar
Clinton to be Rep to UN
Braun for Health and Human Services
Wilson for Ambassador to the Court of St James
Robert Kennedy for EPA head
And lots and lots more

I would especially like to see a new face heading the Secret Service, a "non-political" force that is acting more and more like the President's own Preatorian Guard. Also, a new FBI Director and a new CIA Director from Day One.

20. Kerry wants a repub in a high-level cabinet position
Read this recently, sorry no link. He's probably thinking someone like McCain, Lugar or Hegel for Defense. Hey, that might mean one less of them in the Senate.
