Harken, fellow DUers. The Kerry campaign is PUMPED.
Just got off a long, broad and far-ranging conference call with Tad Devine, Joe Lockhart and a whole stadium full of reporters from places like the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and many others. The subject was 'The Week Ahead.'

The campaign is ahead on media buys in many battleground states, and is apparently gearing up an historic and unprecedented GOTV drive nationally.

You could tell from the timbre of their voices two things:

1. They are psyched about what they are seeing across the board;

2. They are getting ready to work to the death this week.

I'm off to go watch football and baseball, so I won't be able to reply to this thread until later. But if it makes you feel any better, I can tell you that this campaign is cocked, locked and ready to rock.

One more week.

3. Thanks for the report. Good news indeed.
It really feels as though we've turned a significant corner right now. Of course, we've felt that way before. And the BFEE will not go quietly. But our guys have done a fabulous job, and they won't slack up now.

And we will continue to do our part, and then some.

5. yea the pukes have been depressed and defensive
almost to the shame that followed the DNC or Abu Gharib disaster.

Pukes know their party is done for.

BUT we must work hard this week, anything BIG can turn the tables.

9. It'll be interesting to read the write-ups of campaign strategies
after this is all over with...did all the paid
people on the ground affect turnout, registration,
income more than in previous years? Internet?
Mail? Bloggers? Sites like DU...Diebold, Bev Harris
et al, traditional v. new methods....can an election
be run more cheaply and just as effectively? Can
television ads be replaced by streaming ones on the Net?
Can campaigns raise smaller donations instead of
relying on 527's or are they here to stay.

Won't be long before this will all be examined.
You could get a headstart on it Will.

11. Good to see the spirits are riding high
Barring any dark megatwist this week, the momentum is on Kerry's side.

I'm glad to see that you're feeling perked way up, considering that you were fretting about a month ago or so.

This convinces me even more that so much positive stuff is going on under the radar, so to speak. The polls are missing a lot.

14. 2 California DUers are heading to Ohio to help get out the vote.
publichealthnut1 and I leave San Francisco this Friday for a few days of GOTV in the Akron area. I have friends at work who are traveling to Reno and Tahoe to GOTV in Nevada. There must be thousands of people (just like us) who are traveling to other states to support Kerry/Edwards.

We're PUMPED, too! Let's turn the momentum into an avalanche. :kick:

17. I just thought of the perfect analogy.
Remember in the movie A Fish Called Wanda...at the end Ken was in that black top roller machine and Wanda's brother got stuck in that concrete?

He saw Ken coming...putt putt putt and he thought it was hillarious. He said what are you going to do K--k-k-ken, shoot me?

Then he realized the concrete had hardened around his feet. LOL.

Well B-b-b-bush, the mixture is hardening. You are just about to be rolled into the concrete by K-k-k-kerry.

I appreciate the work you've done in this election.

And thanks for this report. My God...Bill Clinton out there to campaign for Kerry tomorrow. The polling looking better and better. The momentum is on our side. And the top level of the Kerry/Edwards campaign is pumped and ready. You can feel it. It's that palpable.

Thanks
