1. That paper has 2 editoral boards 1 for the Times and one for the
Free Press. The Times usally goes with the Democrat while the Free Press goes GOP. Did both go with Kerry this year?

5. Ah, the Free Press endorses Bush......
I didn't see the option to read the Free Press editorial board.

My bad.

8. The Times pissed me off when a couple of days ago the supposed
"left" side of the paper endorsed the repub candidate for the district 26? seat in the General Assembly - Bobby Woods' seat. We have a good candidate, James Carpenter, who the local Dems women's club has been trying to help and they turn around and endorse the repug.

6. Only one paper in the state has endorsed Bush
Just the Knoxville paper which always goes Republican. The Nashville paper went for Kerry (they went for Bush) and the Memphis paper switched from endorsing Bush in 2000 to Kerry this time. I know newspaper endorsements only have limited meaning, but the race here seems to be tightening and turnout in early voting is way up. So you never know...

7. And their editorial board is getting skewered in the on-line edition for
endorsing bush* and I think it's just great!! I counted 60 readers who disagreed with the paper's endorsement to 23 who agreed and the comments are a hoot to read!

www.knoxnews.com/kns/comment/0,1406,KNS-362-55236,00. I listed some of them in a thread in the TN forum.
