EMAIL THIS TO THE KERRY CAMPAIGN (IMPORTANT)
Kerry has a chance to break the campaign open if he talks about when he uncovered the dealings of the bank of credit and commerce international (BCCI). It dealt with terrorists, drug traffickers and even saddam hussein. Kerrys actions resulted in the bank being shut down. If he talks about this he will put to rest the idea that he wont fight a good war on terror.

So join me in sending this email to the kerry campaign

------------------------------------------------
This is highly important. John Kerry has two problems when it comes to getting people to vote for him. The two problems are these...

1. They think he won't fight very good war on terror. They say that just because he says he will doesnt make it so.
2. They think his senate record is just a measely bunch of liberal votes.

The Kerry campaign has a unique opportunity in that it can kill two birds with one stone.

TALK ABOUT THE BCCI SCANDAL!

I know it is a very complicated matter and i know the campaign feels like it cant convey what it was in soundbites or anything. I have also read that you think people will confuse it with the BBC. These things may be true but i think its very possible to convey the message about what he did in an ad or something. For instance here could be an ad.

In the late 80s and early 90s senator John Kerry was largely responsible for the uncovering of the dealings of a criminal bank called the Bank of Credit and Commerce International. This was a bank that was illegally funding and laundering money for terrorists, including osama bin laden, drug cartels, pakistans nuclear program and even saddam hussein. It stole an estimated 15 billion dollars from its clients making it the biggest bank fraud ever. Its leader Agha Hasan Abedi stated that its goals were to "fight the evil influence of the West." Top government officials did everything they could to stop kerry's investigation into the bank but John Kerry courageously kept going, using all the resources he had at his disposal to do what he knew was right. John Kerrys efforts resulted in this criminal institution being shut down stopping its dealings with terrorists and evil dictators. John Kerry has shown as senator that he has the knowledge and courage to fight against the terrorists effectively and in all ways possible and he will continue this if elected president.

Not only does that put forth a very good case that kerry would fight the war on terror very effectively but it also puts to rest the notion that he was a do nothing senator.

Please if you want to win, BRING UP BCCI!!!!

Its really the only thing that can let Kerry break this thing open.

----------------------------------------------

I know that if only i send this that nothing will be done. I just ask that everyone who sees this send that email to the kerry campaign.

http://www.johnkerry.com/iframes/shell_prelogin.html

Go to that and email them this message a couple times. Maybe then they will get the point and actually do something.

I know its a long shot but if they bring it up i really think kerry will win the election so its worth the effort.

1. I've heard the campaign say they think it is too complicated to campaign
on but I agree - it is impressive.

2. I already have e-mailed it to them
and I am outraged this issue hasn't been brought up. Everyone who says the average voter doesn't get it is WRONG. It is not that complicated a concept to understand. Yet Bob Shrum continues to think it is...what a shame.

14. Very uncool unless it's painfully obvious.
My DUdar says it's an honest question.

Please let's not go to that level. That's for THAT board, not DU.

3. USAToday - 8th grade educations
I think they believe that shit, that Americans are made up of people who can't comprehend more than an 8th grade reader. It makes me so angry.

And too, we've got Kerry's anti-war controversy. Just imagine the hoopla if the freepers knew Kerry was behind the "villainization" of the "honorable Ollie North". Everything Kerry has done has taken immense courage, unfortunately the country sucks down the right wing version which is what makes JK's accomplishments difficult to campaign on.

16. Is this what DU's come to?
Can't we debate an honest question without calling the poster names?

Maybe he is, I don't know, but this post doesn't expose him as one.

17. Where Did I Call Someone A Name?
I am sick of all the brilliant minds on DU offering up their advice without which Kerry is going to lose.

There are NINE DAYS LEFT. Kerry has his winning strategy.

Why post a thread that says Kerry NEEDS to do this in order to win?

6. Why tie up campaign workers with this?
I agree it's important but I figure the campaign has intelligent staffers to come up with talking points. I'd bet this is on the radar somewhere. I doubt if they need to be inundated with emails to figure this out.

I'd suggest calling them to volunteer on Election Day rather that telling them how to campaign.

My two cents.

7. Sigh.
People are dying in Iraq. The economy is in the shitter. The Supreme Court is one justice away from outlawing abortion.

No one will give a shit about BCCI.

I sure don't.

10. I'm not sure whether you're a freeper or not.
If not, welcome. I'm pretty sure the Kerry team knows about BCCI.
If they thought it was necessary to bring this up, they would.
John Kerry's message is about moving forward, it's the bush team that wants to dredge up the past. They have nothing positive to say for their man.

11. I'm sure they have a good reason for not bringing it up
Hell, I don't think I could properly explain just what Kerry did with BCCI. I know it was something really important, but how you explain it to people in a 10-second soundbite is beyond me.

13. It's been mentioned oodles of times on DU; sent to the campaigns
10 times over, it isn't going to happen. It's a lost cause, like it or not.

My DUdar says you are okay, and welcome.
