1) the Rhenquist announcement reminds everyone about what is at stake at Scotus. Helps energize women to Kerry... Bush gets no fear bounce from the fundies.
2) Appearing with BIG DOG a great image at the right time.
3) The weapons story...shows Bush's incompetance rightly or wrongly.
If Bush fails to fire the Commander resposnible or push for a dereliction of duty charge...and I mean today...He loses alot of credibility becuse thisis the lead story for the next three news cycles.

it was a failure on the ground. I am not giving him an out...not at all..Just that any president has to assume that his militray leaders are not idiots.
How the hell do you walk off with 350 metric tons of anything?????
The argument that Bush is responsible is in the general unpreparedness to prosecute the peace effectively.
