Palast on AARs Morning Sedition Wed |
|
Greg Palast will be on AARs Morning Sedition (airs/streams live from 6-9am -- can also catch a later rebroadcast/stream from KPOJ in Portland from 9-12 -- check www.morningsedition.com for link to KPOJ)
"Also on Wednesday, we've got the BBC's Greg Palast. He blew the lid off the dirty tricks of the 2000 election. Now, he's got a bombshell story revealing what Republicans are trying in Florida this year. He broke the story on the BBC Tuesday. On Wednesday, he'll reveal his story to America, on our program. Plus, he's given us permission to publish -- for the first time anywhere -- the confidential e-mails he obtained. We'll put them online after our interview with Greg."
Check AAR website www.airamericaradio.com for broadcast affiliates to see if there are any in your area. If you can't catch it, you can download it later at www.airamericaplace.com (just one guy, so chip in if you end up using it much)

1. gwbush.org/deadletter needs -GATES; Fire up your sarcasm |

Since it is clear that Palast is likely to broadcast how the emails wound up in his hands, we need to come up with some names for the debacle...
Why should the press have all the fun naming a scandal? We should come up with our own catchnames for the stuff arising from the deadletter messages. While cagedgate is obvious for the story that has already hit the press, we should come up with one for the whole collection... Domaingate is just a touch too nerdish for the general public to get, dotorggate doesn't pronounce well. Should we use up emailgate on this one? (given we need the stuff inside to ramp quickly, it may be worth it)
Also someone want to collaborate on the mastercard meme? Two in mind:
Over a picture of a typical blogger at keyboard (perhaps gwbush.org's operator?)
Registering a parody domain name, $70. 100mb server account $40/month. Web page design software $49.95 Clueless republican staffer sending you secret documents concerning election fraud: Priceless...
Over picture of drunken frat boy preppy type (say from one of the pictures they sent)
Laptop $1,495 Blackberry $699 AOL account $24.95 Confusing .org and .com, and forwarding sensitve campaign documents to left wing bloggers, Priceless.

4. Good Mastercard memes! |
|
On the 'gate' front -- all I can think of right now is "Spam-gate" which isn't really accurate, but it is short and a familiar term....
"NetGate"? "ParodyGate"?
"F***ing Idiot Who Thinks w Would Ever Have A .org and not a .com Website Gate"?
