6. he'll be elected when polls close in the state getting him to 270 |
|
But seriously, here's a marker: Indiana is the earliest to report, at 6 p.m. EST. If in a representative sample of districts, Bush is not breaking 55%, then the election is over. Bush had 57% in '00.

9. I think its ridiculous and naive to act like this is anything close to... |
|
..a lock.
Right now, its just as likely that Bush is elected as it is that Kerry is elected. And the sooner we started acting like we are in touch with reality around here, the sooner we can do more good to really help Kerry in this fight.

12. I'm not glum and down, but I'm not stupid either... |

If you're just exuding a positive attitude, cool. :)
But if anyone really thinks inside their heart that this is such a sure thing and the stop working, that's unfortunate and misguided.
My hope and my optimism come from the fact that WE *CAN* WIN. Not from the blind faith and absolutism that, despite the complicated variables of reality, blindly shouts WE *WILL* WIN.
As a rational person, and not a fundamentalist absolutist thinker, saying we "can" do something has to be enough to give me hope, keep my motivated and upbeat. Not that I'm accusing you of being the latter, I'm just saying where I'm coming from.
