What states should Kerry visit just before the election ? |
|
On the day before election and on election day, what states should Kerry pay a visit? We all know that PA is important. But so is Ohio, MI, IA, MN, WI, and others. Should he try to focus on all of them or just pick out two or three and spend most of his time in those states? If he had to choose only three states to campaign in just before election, which three would he choose?

I think he should focus on Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Nevada.

7. Every candidate should do what Hillery did in 2000. |
|
She pledged to visit every county in NY during her campaign and followed through on it. I believe this helped her campaign in the mostly conservative, rural areas of the state.
The presidential candidates should visit every state at least once(twice?) and every state's news media should get a chance to interview them.

8. looks like they will be in |
|
Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Minnesota in these last days. I also agree that perhaps a quick stop in NJ--perhaps at a college might be nice.

Or some other state where he is seen as having only a slim chance.
That makes it look like he has this thing in the bag and he's so confident that he can afford the luxury of a campaign stop in Georgia or Kansas or Kentucky.
Perhaps he can make a stop strictly on behalf of a Senate candidate.
Or -- how about a campaign rally in Austin?

10. It would be nice to see a stop in KY to campaign against Bunning.... |
|
It may have further rewards outside just the state of KY. :) From the publicity and the news accounts. It could affect other voters elsewhere.

13. Victory is not THAT wrapped up! |
|
Kerry will not go for that lesser strategy but for the jugular where it counts to be certain of victory. it is the strangely inept Bush team that has fantasy ideas about where to go as opposed to focusing on reality.
Gore pretty much went with the opportunities but perhaps- if anything would have helped- he should have concentrated on other close states other than the Jeb bait in Florida. Then Gore continued to put all his eggs into the ever shrinking Florida challenge like a kid putting nickels in a crooked slot machine that supposedly was ready to pay off.
Go for Florida but mainly work to make it irrelevant. That would be the best way to discourage useless fraud and possibly winning easier because of that fact alone. Fraud will be a factor in Florida, but the others too will have some of their own and can't be neglected for the tar baby in the swamps.
Kerry will know and will not waste his visits. We don't have the best resources to outguess his campaign on this plan of attack. I am sure hindsight will offer improvements.

11. Florida and then Ohio |
|
The Republicans may or may not win Wisconsin and Iowa; I say we go for the trifecta and win Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio and ram it up their ass.

12. I tend to agree with this strategy.... |

:) Put more energy into these three, rather than scatter it over several.
