National forecast for Tuesday (courtesy of weather.com)

Legend has it that the better the weather, the better the day for Democrats. But in 2000, The Weather Channel said that weather has little, if any, impact on elections.

2. Not good, either...
Rain on the East Coast and Florida, where we need Kerry wins, snow in the Northwest, where we also need Kerry wins, and nice and sunny in the red states. Not exactly a great picture when we believe that people will have to stand in line for hours outside to vote.

Fortunately, the election is six days off, and long-range forecasts are notoriously inaccurate. It might be better than this.

3. And just how often is the forecast correct 6 days out?
I hope this forecast means it will actually be sunny and warm across our great nation.

4. I don't think it can get much worse, frankly.

But I do agree with The Weather Channel that weather has little impact.

Except when the race is close.

5. This looks fishy
I work with weather people. They admit that any forecast past three days is basically fiction. It seems really suspicious that the red zones are predicted for nice weather and the blue zones get storms.

7. The majority of Kerry voters
are way too fired up to stay home because of weather. Also, the GOTV effort is primed for this.

Imagine someone thinking "I hate that George Bush, he needs to go, but eh, it's too cold to go out!"

Not buying it.

Also the weather will change before next Tuesday. It's too far out.
