Cheney in Hawaii is NOT a time-waster |
|
Hear me out before flaming.
The rally is set for very late Sunday night. Cheney could be out west -- in Nevada or New Mexico, say -- on late Sunday and, with the time difference, really not be wasting much campaign time by heading for Hawaii. If the rally is over by midnight Hawaii time, he can still get back by mid-morning to the Southwest.
But strategically, I'd have to call this a headfake.

this talk of Hawaii being a battleground state is rather nonsense. So f Dickie wants to campaign in Hawaii, then more dick to him, and by all means

before his indictment in this Halliburton scandal.
I really think Biden or Byrd should call for Cheney to step aside. Seriously, wouldn't the repukes be calling for Edwards to step aside from the ticket if his law firm had its billing records taken by the FBI.

5. Didn't think about the timezone angle |

If anything though, he would probably discourage swing voters in HI from voting for Bush. Doesn't make much sense, but no skin off my back if Cheney pisses his time away :D

6. No. It gets Cheney out of circulation. |
|
He draws small crowds, and has nothing to say but terra terra terra, which sounds a bit hollow this week.

Kucinich was the only one to visit Hawaii during the primary and he benefited for it big time..
Remember how well he did there just because of one visit?

Kucinich came in 2nd in the Democratic primary as a result of his visit.. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/primaries/pages/states/HI/(Does show an act of desperation on the B/C campaign's part.. but I'd sure rather see Edwards in a speedo and Hawaiian shirt than Cheney! x(

9. One Proud Hawaiian Kucinich Voter here |
|
I would send some Democratic ops to Maui since Kucinich won a majority of the vote on the island.
Although Republicans have gained some ground here, the National Party is frowned upon.
We need someone to talk about the environment.
