NYT front page -- compare the rally pics

For any of you who've got access to this morning's NYT, compare the front-page pics of Kerry and Springsteen in Madison, Wisconsin, and Bush's event in Westlake, Ohio.

Notice that, even though the Kerry pic is only two thirds the size of Bush's, there are probably 20 times as many people in it. Don't you think that, had Bush really drawn a lot of folks, the wide-angle would have been used?

2. Which One Was Forced To Sign Loyalty Oaths?
I keep forgetting. Was it the one that was sprawled down the street like a scene from Forrest Gump or was it the crowd that went to listen to Forrest Gump?

3. That was the first thing I noticed when I
read the NYT this morning.... one shows a crowd a mile long, with no end in sight, and you can barely see people's heads. The other one shows a more compact crowd where you can definitely see people's heads. It was a big difference. Another thing I noted is that, with very few exceptions (of which I counted two), one crowd is very "white" (I can't tell about the other crowd, because it's just so many people, but I'm sure it's more than 2).

6. hello!
i live in olmsted twp, just sorta down the road. i'm glad i had to work yesterday so i wasn't anywhere near shrubbie's visit.

i'm disappointed that crocker park has only opened a few shops, but i'm hoping that some of shrubbie's crowd thought they were going to crocker park, and just got mixed up.

7. You ARE right down the road!
I'm on Canterbury just south of Detroit, so I had no problem staying away from the commotion.

Just wait until 11/18...that's when the restaurants start opening. Hyde Park Steakhouse opens on the 18th...mmmmmmmm...

:)
