As we speak, I am guessing that the East Coast has the OBL story on the evening news, and this story will draw more responses by the 6pm Pacific time. I don't have cable presently so I don't have to suffer through the talking heads' ad nauseum speculations.
But, I can see this story molding into a message that galvanizes the "let's not change horses in midstream" mantra.
Anyone who follows such logic needs to remember that Bush DROPPED THE BALL in trying get bin Laden!

I've been reading these posts for the last 6 months (my very first post by the way), and how all of us have been worried about Bin Laden being trolled out of the White House in chains by *** in front of the "librul" media. (the worse case scenario, or pretty much the kiss of death) But guys, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN!!! Instead, we have some tape of him trying to explain to us why he committed an act of mass murder, and him bashing on Bush. To my knowledge, he did not implicitly said that he will strike us soon. (but then again, it goes unsaid that he wants the end of us) So, why would Americans get all freaked out and rally to **. I mean, if obl said that he will strike terror in our elections, then I would start to worry, because then Americans really will freak out and rally to **. At this point, I just don't quite see it. (although I want to see a different opinion on this issue)

The thing I am worried about, is obl's switch to talk about freedom and all that warm and fuzzy stuff. Obviously, this is not intended for us. I hope this is not some hidden message for islamis fundamentalists to start trouble in the Middle East.

Regarding momentum... Pleeeeze. No one in the media ever mentioned Kerry having momentum, and all of them were actually saying how bushie is ahead. Reminds of what they were saying after the repub convention about how Bush has wiped out the kerry gains, when the librul media all along had been saying that Kerry did not make any gain from his post convention talk.
