Who thinks it was wrong for the media to air ANYTHING OBL says?
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 09:11 PM by Moonbeam_Starlight
I am tending towards thinking it is irresponsible to air his tapes.

A) Do we know when this tape was made? Is it old or new? I know he mentions Kerry, but that means it could have been made as far back as July.

B) Why are we listening to the words of a man who masterminded the worst attack on American soil EVER?

If any bushies use this tape to support their support of bush, I will say "SHAME ON YOU for listening to a mass murderer. And shame on you for voting for one, too."

Grrr. I would think, especially this close to the election, it would be irresponsible at best to spread his words. It is the terrorists' agenda to spread fear. Why give him a platform for it?

Also, who thinks the repukes sent out that fake American guy's tape just in case this one didn't pan out?

They are sick, all of them. Neocons, repukes who believe this shit and propagate it, AND the terrorists. Hell, I'll go so far as to say I think bush is a terrorist. I think he certainly feels that way to plenty of Iraqi families. Hell.

1. Especially right before the election. OBL can only affect our election if
we let him have his say.

Then again, so can Bush, and to be honest, I don't see much of a difference between the two, except Bush has killed a lot more innocent civilians for his cause than bin Laden has. I despise both of them, but Bush 'scares' me more, because he can do a million times more damage than bin Laden. He's done more to create anti-Western sentiment and to promote terrorism than bin Laden or all the terrorist recruiters before him. Hell, even Europe hates and fears us now.

What gets me is bin Laden is beamed into our houses at HIS liking. This is like rape. I'm not scared, just PISSED! And in the back of my mind I get this niggling feeling we're being played by the powers that be, that bin Laden is a black ops created 'boogey man'.

4. Some mastermind. College kids are bright enough to wiggle into airports,
and they wiggled in long AFTER 9/11.

OBL is a lucky antediluvian old fart.

And * should have gone after him, like he said on 9/13. But Saddam's penis was obviously more fun to fondle after March 13, 2002, when * said OBL was no longer important.

5. I see your point, but just to play devil's advocate....
it might be helpful from a law enforcement/fugitive apprehension point of view, which is what the appropriate response to 9/11 would have been. Suppose the government of California had responded to the Manson murders by invading Canada, stupidly allowing Charlie Manson and his followers to scarper off to Nevada? That's what bushco did after 9/11.

Violent nutcases have been caught in the past by publishing their ramblings and asking the public for help. Ted the Unabomber was caught that way. Maybe someone will see something in this tape or these words that will lead to catching OBL and other al Quada leaders. It's worth a try.
