Anyone catch Roger Simon of US NEWS on Dobbs last night?
This guy isn't even making any effort to his his pro-Bush bias. He's really come on strong as the biggest RW whore of the campaign. I didn't notice when he first started making the rounds on the pundit shows but this guy's got FoxNews All-Star written ll over him. Last night he was into the spin about how OBL wants Kerry to win and how this tape was a huge event that will shift the election. He actually said that the tape was even better for the Bush camapign than actually capturing or killing OBL would be? He's been seriously brainwashed by the Bush campaign. Even Brownstein and Tumulty looked a little taken aback by what this clown was spewing out. Simon is also one ugly-ass MF.

1. Did you see James Wolcott skewer Simon the other day?
"Roger L. Simon, the novelist in a hat, has issued a fatwa. And a fat wa it is too.

Following the lead of Fox News (see below), he thunders:
"If Kerry does win, the mainstream media will have gotten him elected with their biased coverage and they will pay for it more than they could imagine. And it will be the blogosphere and you, our own supporters, who will make them pay. Our strength will grow incrementally with a Kerry victory in terms of influence and even economic power. And both will be at the expense of the mainstream media. Yes, we too have 'plans.'"

For some reason, I'm reminded of George Costanza's great soliloquy that begins, "The sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli."

6. I did. He could barely contain himself
The tape is better news for Bush than actually capturing him? The guy was beside himself.

to complain about this hack. Then when I got to their site I realized it's all RW. Barone, Healy (former GOP Sen candidate), Borger, Zuckerman, Gergan. I always thought the mag was middle of the road. Guess not.

7. If killing or capturing Osama is a plus for Bush, the opposite is a minus.

10. problem is the total WHORE media plays it both ways, as did, for example.
David Brooks last night:

he said that ANY reference to terror (including OBL) is always good for Bush, because most of the voting public pays only the most superficial attention, and that such references have proven to benefit him the most....indeed, it's the ONLY real edge he has on Kerry

what he said, implicitly, is the public is so STUPID that they can't understand that OBL is playing them in the broadest, reverse psych manner

dunnno if it's too close to the election to swing enough undecideds, or bring back other terror idiots to Bush

who knows?

with massive voter suppression/BBV fraud, how can anyone ever tell, unless the unpolled new voter turnout is so massive that it will tsunami all the fascist crap the pugs and their media handmaidens have pulled over the last four years

we have a celebrity media culture built on dollar sings that reduces everything to a cartoonish wrestling match. seriously, how long can this go on?
