Why are the Dems spending time in Hawaii (no offense, but I just read that the campaign has shifted focus to Southwestern states...but not THAT far southwest!).

Also surprised to see Gore looking so overweight. Is it just the pictures or is his face sort of bloated?

11. a few reasons

the bush campaign has spend a lot of money for ads in hawaii. the kerry camp has spend no money. the republicans have much more money so they are able to do this but we had limited resources which has been focused on swing states.

another reason is that hawaii has not had the economic problems the rest of the country has. much of it because of tourism to the state. there was also an issue of backlash against the democratic stronghold a couple years ago when a republican woman was elected governor.

kerry had planned to campaign in hawaii during the primary but when edwards did better than expected in wisconsin kerry changed plans to focus on states edwards was competing in the most . i thought that kerry should have done on appearance sometime between when he became the presumed nominee and election day. it's too late now. but i wish he had done an appearance earlier.
