Desperate freepers asking God to avoid * defeat

"I don't like this. I'm beginning to think we all need to be in continual prayer that an evil that will affect our heritage, our families, and all our tribes be defeated this Tuesday. Like four years ago, we may be too blind and stupid as a people to do the right thing.

God is in the Heavens. He is our ultimate. Father, help our cause."

1. I asked my hubby to join me in a prayer vigil for Kerry to win
and he said no on account of we're not supposed to tell God what to do but ask for His will.

Technically, he is right. But I am still gonna pray for sanity to return to the WH!

3. Makes me shake my head in wonder...
Fundies are fucking nutjobs. Nut. Jobs. I mean what kind of asshat really and truly believes that having an intelligent, non-criminal president will affect their goddamned heritage and their goddamned tribes. Sound like fucking racist assholes to me and if there is a Tooth Fairy^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^God up there, he doesn't look kindly upon racist pigs like right wing fundies.

4. Sounds like a DUer posing as a freeper
so they will spend the next two and a half days praying instead of doing GOTV.

Either way you gotta love it.

DUers know that God helps those that helps themselves!

27. If he is, he's awfully dedicated as he's been at it for over 5 years
Screenname is Luke21. If that is supposed to equate to Luke 2:1 (can't think what else it could be as he's in his 40s or more), that reads as follows: "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed." This seems like a pretty strange credo for a freeper, but maybe he's looking at a different version of the KJV than Bartleby has:

10. Boy, are these people going to have a crisis of faith on Nov 2?
I don't think God takes either side in stuff like this. But he certainly wouldn't support Bush for his lies and his hypocrisy, especially given that he surrounds himself with such anti-christian individuals like Karl Rove and Dick Cheney.

On the other hand, I do pray for Bush and his backers every day -- that they will be brought to justice and set straight for their crimes against humanity and the world.

They threw out the only one to come close in the last election cycle and kept all the ones that were toilet paper! Talk about not being honest with oneself...

16. Actually, what you quoted
makes a great prayer for the Kerry side.

Personally, I pray a lot. I know that Kerry will win, God willing, and I pray that we all be given the strength to live with his victory. It will be very important that the Democrats and other progressives stay united so that the neocons cannot perpetrate their agenda.

And the Lord smiled. And behold, the bush was burning, and JK ascended to the presidency. And it was very, very good.

We need to pray and pray SO HARD that these undecided voters will vote for Bush. To make a statement against the Muslims, I have been praying toward Washington three times per day all of this month. And I try to pray at least 7 or 8 other short prayers during the day also. I have faith that the Lord WILL guide our country to re-elect George W. Bush, but we cannot let our praying slide at all over the next few days!!!

30. I agree, they should pray continuesly, say until 9 or 10 pm Tuesday night
Don't leave your prayers off for ANYTHING freepers. Remember that Gawd will determine the election. It is Gawds will who will be elected, and he will only reward the TRULY devoted. Keep praying hard. Don't stop long enough for any petty secular pursuits like say eating, or drinking, or heaven forbid, voting. Just keep praying to Gawd and KKKarl and *. You must place your ENTIRE faith in Gawd to save you.

33. Back when Clinton beat Poppy Bush,

I was teaching at a small Christian college (yes, it specializes in turning out small Christians!) Some students were so upset by Clinton's victory that they had to hold "emergency" prayer meetings in the dorms that night. It still makes me queasy to think of it, as Poppy Bush was NOT known for his commitment to Christianity. This equating of God and GOP goes way back to Reagan, who did talk a bit about God while slashing budgets for programs that helped people. Why are so many people so easily deluded?

35. all our tribes???
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 05:43 PM by End of all Hope
How melodramatic. Unless they're members of a cult or commune, native Americans, Romani or some other sort of nomadic ethnic group, the term tribe seems to be an odd choice of words, don't you think? Reminds me of some of the ancient, freaky racialist classifications at Stormfront or something.
