23. I believe we are going to win and win big
but whether we take this election or not the war is just beginning. We have loads and loads of work yet to do. We have to keep on fighting to get our soldiers home, peace here and abroad, the economy back on track, healthcare, jobs, environment, untangle all of the problems left by this misadministration. John Kerry and John Edwards are just two people and it is going to take all the help the cabinet, the Congress and Supreme Court can muster from all of us to repair the damage that has been done in four short years. On the agenda is taking back the House and Senate and State governments and that is going to take a lot of work. But we are up for it now. We understand how they are playing their game but we are better at it and there are alot more of us.

Then we have to be very, very sure not to ever go asleep at the wheel again. I always voted, followed the news, participated in some small way but I, for one, took my freedom and democracy for granted. I never imagined any group of people like BushCo could come slithering into our lives and undo so much about what is great about this country. These thugs attacked our Constitution and I will not ever forgive them for that. But some of the responsibility lies within me, I let them. I will never again let anyone take my country and our freedoms hostage again.

Round 2 starts Wednesday.

19. I'd also like to thank the following websites for providing
truth and excellence in a time when our national media failed us so totally and completely. They are:

www.buzzflash.com
www.commondreams.org
www.alternet.org
www.antiwar.com
www.takebackthemedia.com
www.tompaine.com
www.bushflash.com

And of course, the grandaddy of them all www.democraticunderground.com
I'd hate to think of what the last four years would have been like without the internet and all of these gifted people that use it so. :toast: to all of you.

election.

We have to be outraged, crazed, and back it up with activism in the streets and money to fight these fascist...because they have control of over 30% of the electronic voting machines (BBV) and they are going to manipulated them to Bush's advantage.

The ONLY thing to off-set it is if people come out in huge droves for Kerry ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

Even then it's no guarantee the fascist GOPigs won't still steal it.

IS ANYBODY LISTENING, OR JUST PATTING EACH OTHER ON THE BACK????

and the entire broadcasting crew, including whoever set it up and saw it through and made it grow into a formidable force for progressive democracy.

To all those patriots who wrote articles and books at a crucial time and made a difference. To all those who leaked information at just the right time. To all those who were harmed by this fascist administration who held their heads high with grace and fortitude, Ambassador Joseph Wilson for one.

most of all to John Kerry for even having the ambition to want to be in the position of mopping up after this idiot, for his bravery and resolve to turn it around in the face of the most brutally repressive and dirty politicing regine ever to call itself our "government" ditto for John Edwards. ditto for Elizabeth Edwards and Teresa.

So many to be proud of and not enough room to list them all.

21. Thank Karl Rove, for running a campaign that put Bush into a box.
Weirdest national campaign strategy I've ever seen. Essentially surrender on the domestic front, run a 100% negative campaign, front load your spending, then give your opponent three debates on a national stage to demonstrate how false all the character assassination you spent your money on was. Win or lose, unless there was something going on behind the scenes I'm not aware of informing the decision making, this was one shitty campaign. Of course, no one recognizes it because if you're attacking your opponent all the time, you are being "aggressive," and "aggressive" is always good in America.

24. Direct your dad to Kerry's website, where all his ads are.
You will see all positive ads until September. There are reasons for this of course, Kerry was trying to introduce himself to the public, but whatever the reasons, Kerry didn't run nearly as negative a campaign as did Bush. Moreover, Bush's entire strategy revolved around attacking Kerry's character with the "flip flopping" and the "too liberal" nonsense. And of course, we have Cheney's constant, "a Vote for Kerry is a vote for terrorism" message, which is simply outrageous. Of course, if your dad is a hardcore partisan, he won't see anything negative about that stuff.

32. Aye... but we ARE going to win, because we fought...
...like we've never fought before.

We are united in a way I haven't seen in my lifetime (which goes back to the early 60s).

We know the cost of failure. The cost of division, of infighting, and of failing to see who the real enemy is.

We will prevail.

I'll be glad when America is secure enough that the left can go back to attacking Krugman for being too smitten with globalization, rather than relying on him as a rare voice of sanity in the corporate media. But for much of the last three years that's been exactly what he's been.

37. DON'T EVEN GO THERE!!!
The time for talking about the election in the past tense is when the final polling place closes Tuseday night. Until then, it's still on, and it's time to fight like hell, not congratulate ourselves on having fought like hell.

Besides, should Bush win another four years, I could care less about any "moral victories," or feeling O.K. because we put in a lot of effort in a losing cause. Another Bush term will not be any less destructive because we fought hard. All it would mean to me is that, no matter how hard we tried, the forces that back Bush still triumphed over us. And that's not something I'm willing to concede even as a possibility on the Saturday night before the election.

In short, to quote a very old and very wise Muppet:

"DO, OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO 'TRY'."
