Part of US September 11 commission report has not been released: report

The US Justice Department has reportedly not released a final chapter of the September 11 commission's report related to conflicting accounts of efforts to track and chase the jets hijacked that day, and is unlikely to do so before Tuesday's presidential vote.

Drawing from this unpublished part of the inquiry, the commission quietly asked the inspectors general at the Departments of Defense and Transportation to review what it had determined were broadly inaccurate accounts provided by several civil and military officials about efforts to track and chase the hijacked aircraft on September 11, the newspaper said.

"In testimony before the commission, officials had described a quick response to the hijackings that narrowly missed intercepting some of the planes, but the commission's investigators later determined from documentary evidence that none of the military planes were anywhere near the four airliners," the report added.

"Officials at the Federal Aviation Administration (news - web sites) testified that they had notified the military within a few minutes of each hijacking, but the investigation found that tape recordings contradicted that assertion," it noted.

4. One Thing That's Always Bothered Me About 9/11...

...is that Cheney was calling up the military and instructing them to shoot down the planes.

Don't get me wrong, i'm glad Cheney was doing *something*, seeing as Bush was incompacitated, but isn't the VP wielding the President's power WHOLLY unconstitutional???

Could you imagine the uproar there would have been if Joe Lieberman was doing Gore's job on 9/11?

6. According to the 9/11 report, Cheney's message

did not come through as shoot down the planes. The Andrews AFB jets did operate with permission to shoot down the planes, but they weren't up until after 10:30 (and the Secret Service took the initiative to talk to the head guy at Andrews to get that underway--not Cheney and his people). As we all know, by 10:30 all four planes were down.

7. Cheney's story is the one that makes the least sense

In his original story, he claims he was in his office watching the attack on CNN, until the SS came and carted him office around 9:30 AM when they heard another plane was heading for the WH.

However in his 9-11 Commission testimony they moved the sequence of events up about 20-30 minutes earlier than they originally claimed.

Condi's story doesn't match either. In some stories she claims she went straight to the WH bunker. In other stories and according to Richard Clarke she went to Cheney's office first.

Yet, according to Bush he spoke to Condi before he went into the classroom at Booker which would have been before 9:00 AM. Yet, according to Condi she was still on her way to the WH sitting in DC traffic.

No wonder they want to keep this information from the public. When you try to put the pieces together, none of them fit.

11. They are skirting the snafu from Operation Vigilant Warrior going on

at the same time as the 9/11 hijackings.

NORAD was in the middle of an exercise simulating multiple hijacking in the northeastern air corridor. What a surprise, hunh? Minnesota Democratic Senator Mark Dayton has been on the backs of the 9/11 Commission for covering up for NORAD which offered a nonsense timeline explaining that morning's military activities.

It seems Dick Cheney was supervising this 'exercise' from the White House while it put fake radar blips of fictitiously hijacked planes on the FAA's screens making it impossible for them to discern the real ones. Response aircraft were out of the area and unavailable to intercept as a result of this exercise which Richard Clarke barely mentions in his book 'Against All Enemies.'
